Bryant recently requested a trade

No one cares play ball buttercup. If the reason ju ju is playing more then you is blocking then guess what become a better blocker. You are bigger so its want too. Im not trading ****

This younger generation want everything handed to them without working for it.

Self entitled generation and it comes in every color.

OK, you want to talk trade, it's time to talk value. During the season, you aren't going to get Randy Moss for a 4th rounder. If you are going to trade during the season, it is because of need, and you're going to have to give up a 1st or 2nd to get what you need.

Bryant has a lot of talent and ability, wrapped up in one of the cheapest contracts in the league.

His cap this year is $718k, next year, his cap is $705k. That is the value, and it's a value that any team picking him up, would love to have. He fits under any salary cap in the league!

Steelers have to ask themselves, are they going to give Bryant a new contract next year, or are they going to let him play out his contract (and probably deal with a holdout)? If you can get a 1st or 2nd to avoid this situation, this is a valid path.

The worst case scenario, if the Steelers DO trade Martavis, they already have a starter capable WR ready to step into his role. Justin Hunter can fill that role with the same if not better productivity, that we are currently getting from Bryant. The only downside to making this move, is you no longer have depth if we lose Hunter to injury. DHB would probably be the next person there, and he'd do fine, but there would be a drop in productivity.

This is why the Steelers picked up Hunter this year. Just in case Bryant doesn't make it through the season. The safety net is there if the Steelers want to get serious about moving Bryant.

everyone relax.

MB is upset that his snap count is dropping and JuJu's is picking up. Of course the ****** wants to be on the field. Why wouldn't he? Oh, it's a team? Well, to play at the NFL level, you have to believe you're better than the next guy at your position and want the ball. Why wouldn't MB want to be on the field instead of a rookie? He's probably discussed this with his hanger-on and she took it to an extreme.

Go read his Twitter timeline and see all the Steelers players propping him. If he was a cancer and wanted out, that wouldnt happen.

Not sold on Hunter being a replacement, his play has been meh to me.Questionable hands IMO.

Nor am I interested in any shape way or form of trading Bryant during the season. As to bottom line be honest. Steelers don't have a plethora of explosive WRs on their roster.

And I am still rounding out hope Bryant can get back to from of what he once was. IF that comes in the second half of the season, he could be the missing link to a formula for success deep into the playoffs.

Not willing to roll the dice with the Steelers having a opportunity still for something special.

In the off-season you can draft his replacement or bring one in. Either way if they want to trade him then so-be-it.

I have a bad feeling about the guy long term, seems like there is always some kind of issue with him.

I think his depression issues are deep seeded.

It's been confirmed by multiple sources that he actually did ask for a trade a few weeks ago. No matter what he posts on Twitter, what else was he gonna say?

Trade for what? He is still our No. 2 but it's as much his fault for not getting open as it is for Ben overthrowing him. Although, last week Haley did have him running mostly short routes. That might have pissed him off. They used him reasonably well this week but didn't pass very much. The Steelers look to be going back to running the ball with Nix in the backfield. They had only AB in at WR on many plays in the 2nd half. That was odd. At least make the other team think you might pass the ball.

Either way, we wouldn't really get that much for him. Maybe a 3rd rounder would be my guess. I can't see them trading him.

Hunter has done nothing in games as was his issue previously. He seems to disappear when it counts. Unless he steps it up a couple notches (if he even gets a helmet again), I think he's gone next year. Bryant, JuJu and Rogers are three shifty WR's that can get open. They would look to add another tall, fast guy if Bryant goes and Hunter doesn't pan out.

The guy wants more touches just like AB and LeVeon.....So the **** what? None of them are wrong and they all want to ball....

He’s actually got a little bit of a gripe....As did Bell AND Brown.

Simple solution...Keep moving the chains and keep the O on the field. This will increase the touches for all 3 Bees

Winning does fix a lot of problems. Ideally, if he's smart, he knows his value will skyrocket with a superbowl, and this is his best chance to get one. Perhaps he's finally coming around?

Yeah, I still don't think the Steelers are in any position to trade him. Maybe in the offseason, but that would be it. Justin Hunter hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire when he played, and he's are only other tall down the field type guy.

Hunter doesn't get #2 snaps, he gets #4 snaps, and if you said he does 'nothing' in the 14 snaps he's had, he's actually had 2 catches. or one play every 7 snaps when he's on the field with 2-3 other receivers and a TE

Martavius has 17 catches and 2 rushes or 19 plays made in 252 snaps. or one play every 13 snaps.

Right now, with limited snaps, Hunter is making more plays per snap than Bryant. If Hunter is getting the #2 snaps, he projects to making more of an impact right now, than Bryant is making.

Someone also mentioned that they don't like Hunter's hands and propensity to drop. His hand positioning and body control when fighting for contested balls, are better than Bryant. He's not as big or explosive, but he can get the job done if he has to, and has a much lower chance of dropping balls that hit him, compared to Bryant.

The only way I don't make the trade is to keep the depth and height advantage in our receiving corps. That is a valid argument when fighting for a championship.

If someone offers me a 1st or 2nd, I listen, and weigh those options carefully, especially since every season may be Ben's last now, and this is a QB heavy draft coming up.

good god, people

Martavis Bryant: 'I am happy to be a Steeler'
Bryant reacted to the reports that he requested a trade earlier this season.

Shortly after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Bryant requested a trade earlier this season, ESPN's Dan Graziano confirmed the report while adding specific details with regard to the situation.

"(Trade) request was made weeks ago, source says," Graziano wrote. "Bryant spoke with Steelers coaches ahead of Week 5 game, asking to be more involved in the offense. He's upset with target share distribution and sub packages that swap him out for rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster. Bryant returned this year from a one-year drug suspension and is signed through 2018."

Despite the reports, Bryant says he's happy to be in Pittsburgh, as the 4-2 Steelers will now prepare to take on the 2-3 Bengals at home in Week 7.

Ian Rappaport was the same ****** who was the P*ts beat reporter ... and uncovered not a damn thing they did wrong, didn't have any information on A-a-a-a-a-aron Hernandez killing people ... nothing. He's got zero credibility. Same guy who said Ben wanted to be traded and said the Texans reached out to Louis Riddick for their GM position.

**** Ian Rappaport.

2 receptions for 11 yards on the season 5 games in, won't earn you more looks. Nor can we hang our hats on this and that being better than Bryant. As when he has gotten opportunities. He has done little to nothing with them.

No one is going to offer much for a guy that has played how many snaps and only has 17 catches and is one failed test from suspension for at least a full season

I also think his drug issues will prevent him from getting any big money contracts moving forward. Unless some verbiage is added to his contract, as to money safe guard.

I understand Bryant's frustration to a degree.

Assuming the Steelers' website is correct, here are catch totals thus far:
AB - 48
Bryant - 17
JuJu - 15
TE position total - 19

(Intentionally left Bell off the list since many of his catches are of the outlet variety and not necessarily the primary route option).

Personally, I've felt that Ben is too focused on AB and that is part of the problem with this offense. Every defense knows who Ben's favorite is and that makes coverage a lot easier to plan for. If Ben would spread the ball around so that maybe AB has a 2-1 ratio over the next WR then the entire receiving corps must be paid attention to. Right now, AB basically has many receptions as all other WR and TE combined. That is not healthy for the locker room and it's not the smartest way to run an offense.

Bryant rarely gets open or even gets separation. Do you think the coaches would've pulled him if it was Ben not looking his way?
