Smh ju ju is headed straight to the hole in the middle of the two LBs

And if it wouldn't have been thrown that other LB would have closed on him.

In a close area of proximity that could be a easy INT.

Yinz are funny with your SMH always trying to belittle someone else's opinion like WTF are they looking at.

Watch the LB he's dropping and moving to his right, right where the hole is, he stops as soon as Ben starts his throw.
How do you know he audibled to that?

One linebacker is headed toward the sideline. Ive seen Ben put the ball over linebackers in that same situation. Ive see other qbs do the same. Ben knows Ju Ju is coming across he doesnt have to look at him til he is about throw it, wait there is no pressure when ju ju gets across the LB a high bullet throw will be there.. the LB is shuffling to his right Ju Ju is running. He wont get to that spot

Was James supposed to block on that play or get open? Can't tell by just watching that clip. He went straight into the endzone and was open. I guess he could have run the wrong route but don't know.

Well going to the pass obviously didn't work, but still if it's a run pass option, both plays are sent in from the sideline, the pass play was trash because Bryant doesn't even really run a route, that play looks like a pre determined throw from the get go. The coaches still send the plays in.

JuJu was not open the LBs were underneath that and quit moving when Ben released the ball

Agreed. It would have been throwing into triple coverage. Only possibility would be a high throw to back of the end zone. Would have been a tough play. By no means was JUju wide open.

AB was single covered. It wasn’t a good throw and the DB didn’t take the fake so it was incomplete. It was still a better option than throwing to juju who was bracketed on all sides.

How about james just stick to doing his job. If he does his job on this play by occupying the LB Bell most likely scores

if James hits that LB then it’s offensive pass interference. Take a look. The ball is in the air when James runs past the LB. if he had hit him, it’s an easy call for offensive PI.

Same play executed correctly for a first down

Same play but complete;y different situation. Look how much further back the DB is playingboff James. In this case, Bell already caught the ball when James makes contact which is legal.

seems to me James made a heads up play in the first example. The LB was lined up much closer and James knew he couldn’t hit him or else it would be a penalty which is why he brushed by him then threw an elbow just trying to do a rub and not a block.

He doesnt have to hit him. He has to run his route where the LB must go around him. Delay him just enough that Bell has a one on one with the other LB. All he has to do is run towards the LB and turn around and present himself to the QB. The LB doesnt move towards Bell until james runs by him if James to the spot im front of him and turns and presents his hands to the QB the play works

The steelers seem unaware that certain plays don’t work inside the 5. Those 3 gifs are perfect examples. In the redzone, the DBs are up closer. You don’t have as much space. Timing must be faster.

AB’s route probably works great at the 20 because the DB has to worry about getting beat deep, but at the goal, he can stick to him like glue because there’s not enough room to run past him when you do a double move 5 yards into the EZ.

Look at the 2 screen passes. The one that worked had DBs far off the line. There was time for the play to develop. The rub by Vance and the block by James had time to work. Contrast that with the EZ version where DBs are in their faces and the timing is thrown off. They should make that play a lateral in close so the TE and WRs can actually block.

Then that’s not the same play as the other then is it? Besides, how would james putting his *** is Poz’s face have done much better? Poz read that play a mile away and still would have run past James for the tackle.

The key is James could not make contact. The pass was in the air. Look at how quickly James was at that LB. Besides, even if James turned around on a short hook, he could still get called for PI if the ball was in the air and the LB knocked into him while breaking for the ball. There is a reason why the WR keeps moving on pick plays. It’s because you can’t just stand there and be in the way.

For somebody who lectures other posters about how we don't know what goes on in the huddle or practice, you sure seem to assume a lot.

Assume on what im seeing. On one of the run play gifs is Foster supposed to get pushed back into the hole or win his matchup. Is ben supposed to stare down Brown and not recognize where the blitz is coming and recognize that he has three receivers vs two DBs on the other side where the blitz is coming from as shown in the other gif from the Bears game.

thing is 5 people can watch film and see 5 different things.

I saw that when I compared notes with TMC.

So yinz might not want to take stock in what YOU see, trying to decipher footage.

Thats true in some instances. And on a couple of plays today that has played out. But on some there is no debate.

sit next to someone one time and before you tell him what you see, ask what he sees on a given play. and then compare.

Then "some instances" might be more than you realize.

I don't even pretend to be able to break down each play. So many things go into it.

Hell even on Ben's 5 INTs against the jag-offs. I must have saw 5/6 different perceptions from people.

.I think for you , you too often lock yourself into a opinion. Yinz can't grow with that mindset.

There will be times when we are all wrong, but the ability to change a opinion makes you even smarter if you think about it.

Being wrong and learning makes you smarter.

But holding onto the same opinion every time no matter what is presented to you?

not a good look.

And we're assuming Tomlin does not get the team prepared based on what we're seeing. What's the difference?

The offense for the last few years? The movie Groundhog Day. Same thing over and over and over and over and over and over...

I still believe Tomlin can't see what is going on, on the field, if he does he sure does not know how to change things. In all reality what we have seen in the games so far the Steelers are in trouble. Three weeks in a row controversy going on and the team does not seem to have any leaders.

And we're assuming Tomlin does not get the team prepared based on what we're seeing. What's the difference?

Because from playing and coaching i know its been plenty of instances where i failed on a play or my teammates that i know we were was properly prepared for or when coaching i knew we had went over something a million times. Thats my reasoninng for not jumping on coaches. I know others may feel differently

So what's the point if having a head coach?
