Don't think Ray Rice will be defended anymore...

Interesting that Hollywood has been able to turn this discussion from one about Ray Rice and his actions to one about defending Ben. It's misdirection and a lot of you are falling for it. There's absolutely no need to defend BR every time some jagoff from another team gets in trouble.

Bullshit. I said there's no sense rehashing the Roethlisberger incidents now because it's been done to death, but some fanboy buffoons insist on doing it. Don't blame this **** on me.

Ok, well then you ALL have got caught up debating something that 1) none of us will ever know exactly what happened 2) whether you agree or disagree with the punishment, it's years old history and nothing can be changed about it.

says the exact same ************ who dredged it up and STILL can't get his facts as straight as a Ray Rice cross.

nevermind ......

I brought it up to illuminate, while someone was crying about the Ravens organization, that all organizations in the NFL are more or less the same when it comes to overlooking incidents from star players, including our beloved Steelers.
Period. End of story.

Reading what these guys wrote make me physically ill. Anyone that can justify a man hitting a woman is NO MAN. Regardless of the reasons. Have you ever heard the child's rhyme "Stick and Stones can break my bones but names can never hurt me" No matter what she said to him does NOT justify him hitting her. As others have said the lack of CONCERN for her once she is knocked out is appalling..

Bullshit. The Rooneys announced they would see what the NFL handed down, and if they didn't think it was enough, they were ready to add to it. It would appear 6 games was enough according to their perspective. If Ray Rice were a Steeler, he'd have been cut (and not just after the tape came out). Ask Santonio Holmes, Cedric Wilson, and Bam Morris.

Additionally, that's pretty funny coming from a team that had Stabbit Ray become their Lord and Spiritual guide.

And there it is. "The Steeler Way" bullshit. Our organization is sooooo much classier. What a bunch of horseshit. You've proven yourself to be nothing but a fanboy.

Where's the proof? Where's the video? LMAO! Hypocrisy exposed again.

The NFL never saw the video until this week, and neither did the Ravens. Period. There is no reason to think otherwise.
While I still think Rice is a scumbag and this chick is crazy to stay with him, she has chosen to do so. She chose not to press charges, acknowledged she was equally to blame for the incident, they both decided to move past the incident and marry, has publicly supported Rice and condemns the media crucifying him. That's all we need to know, and the rest is really none of our business. It's their life, time to move on.

It becomes everyone's business when you decide to beat your fiance/wife on a public elevator.

Come on now. Deebo didn't go anywhere. And it took Holmes several incidents to be tossed out.

And 6 games was bullshit. Suspended 6 games for drinking in bars with women.

How about the James Harrison and Cedrick Wilson incidents. Dan Rooney claimed Harrison wasn't released for slapping his girlfriend because he was "taking his son to be baptized". Wilson was released immediately after his incident when he punched his girlfriend in the face. We all remember the Chris Rainey situation. And then there is Ray Lewis. This hypocrite is on the other night talking about how him and Ray Rice are nothing alike as far as their conduct with women is concerned and from those in the know he doesn't exactly have a great past when it comes to dealing with women as far as non violence goes, but Miami University did a cover up job for the ages. And Terrell Suggs allegedly poured bleach on his girlfriend and son and kicked his girlfriend in the face and broke her nose. And a few years later he allegedly punched her in the neck and dragged her along the side of a moving vehicle. I can keep going.

What Ray Rice did was horrible but he is getting that scarlet letter and he's being used as an example because there was video. If there wasn't video I guarantee you that Rice would be suiting up for the Ravens in a few weeks. This is what pisses me off. The burden of proof is on the abused and there is a systematic culture of indifference in place in general but especially in place with regard to athletes with this issue. I don't like it as a man, a brother, and a son......or as a Steelers fan or an NFL fan, so there's no reason to try and compare players on teams like anyone's better than anyone. The good that came out of this is that if will now force authorities and NFL teams to investigate these incidents throughly and to treat the act with the punishment it deserves if there was indeed a crime committed.

Out of all of this I think William Gay's take on it was the most rational that I've heard. Ray Rice needs help. His wife needs support and not to be shunned. People make mistakes. She loves her husband and has chosen to stick by him. It's not our place to judge. He doesn't need to be demonized and we can all learn something from this.

Sadly, this is true. If there was video of Silverback, this same outrage would have happened back then and Steelers would have been forced to cut him. They overlooked his trouble because of his talent while lesser players like Cedric Wilson and Chris Rainey were handed their walking papers. Holmes finally got tossed because his latest nonsense happened around the same time as Ben's. Super Bowl QB was not going to get moved out, so Holmes was. As much as I love the Steelers, the reality is this, like the 31 other teams, they're just doing business to help their bottom line.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that there weren't any charges for Rays deal. I wasn't aware that he never spent one second in a courtroom over it. Here I had heard he plead out and ratted out his buddies, am I mistaken? Is it truly the same situation, where the DA opted to not file any charges, and no time was spent in court at all?

There was a lot of confusion over James and what happened there. I had heard he slapped the phone away, but I didn't hear he actually hit her. At any rate, the Rooneys have been far quicker to act on this type of thing than ANY other team.

I heard he was cooking her dinner when he heard the dryer finish, and he rushed in there to unload and fold the laundry so she wouldn't have to do it, accidentally knocking the phone out of her hands on the way.

That has as much factual backing as just about everything else you have said.

Obstruction of justice is a crime, in case you didn't know.
And why oh why would he do that? If he is so innocent and knows nothing about the crime, why the hell wouldn't he cooperate?

Take a frigging clue, he's an accomplice.
