We're a year removed from Denver winning the championship with a stellar defense. I strongly disagree with this. Of course that is an exception, but Seattle also won a championship with a top notch defense.

Good QB's outnumber good defenses by a large margin

Unless you can find 4 fearsome foursome DL studs to pressure the QB alone or corner the market on pass rushing specialists good QB's will eventually shred all zone schemes

amen

New England's defense also contributed heavily to their cause.

Are you aware that AP is seven years older than Bell?
And you are aware that Peterson started becoming unreliable 4 years ago and Bell has heavy, heavy milage already. Two knee injuries. One very serious and a groin. Plus Tomlin has absolutely no clue how to use a back. He runs them into the ground. Id favor using him up this year and drafting one next.

I think you're right, Tomlin will run the wheels off him again

Quite the conundrum; too big a talent to let go and too big a risk (off field and injury) to invest big money, long term.

they need to sign him and just make him inactive until the playoffs.....draft a RB to get the team through the regular season and turn Bell loose when it is most important....I doubt the AFC Championship turns out so poorly with a healthy Bell in the backfield
