I believe this, and the first player is Bryant who did not play last season! The Steelers score on average about a touchdown less when he does not play. A premier level talent and the best deep threat in the NFL!

The second player is a Cornerback who's better than a declining Gay or Cockrell. Gay looked slower this year. Cockrell more of a package zone guy.

The third player is an edge rusher.

And the fourth would be a head coach who understands alignments and plays them accordingly to the other team's strength and weaknesses and also understands the math on when to use timeouts.

Draft needs

OLB. Edge, DB, and TE!

Pretty much agree. Not saying Tomlin has to go but he has to play to win and not play to not lose. There is a huge difference. When Atlanta was winning, they were play fast and agressive. They went conservative like the Steelers do and they ended up losing. We play fast and conservative.

Play fast and aggressive and play to win. If you don't, you won't. It really is that simple.

Tomlin can coach. He needs x and other guys to make up for that. He can still be the HC.

What a joke. you were good with the first 3.

An HC that got a no-talent shittily coached team to the AFCC game while missing several WR's, one of the top 2 RB's in the league for a few games (including not having him in the AFCCG), missing that RB's very capable back up for a few games, missing a very good Hayward on the DL, 3 rookies starting on Defense. Lost in the AFCCG to cheating piles of ****. by a whole 2 more points than the incredibly talented and well coached team had lost to that same cheating pile of **** team years ago when it was still OK to wail on WR's coming across the middle. Yeah, that guy sucks,

Hardly. Good with 4, see this thread, and you'll see quite a few agree coaching killed us in the AFC Championship game.

Missing several WR's? Probably the 2nd best available WR on the team (Ayers) wasn't even dressed for the Pats game due to a coaches decision. The same coach expected a WR who just had finger surgery to make critical catches. Brilliant.

And to blame losing on injuries is laughable. It's about the healthiest this team had been going into the playoffs in a long time. Hayward was a big blow but the defense actually improved down the stretch even without him. The fact the coaches knew Bell had an iffy groin and didn't plan at least somewhat for the possibility of him missing some snaps is inexcusable.

I was willing to anoint Tomlin a good coach until the Pats game debacle. Anyone and their grandmother knows what kind of defense not to run against the Pats and what do we do? It's one thing to run man to man and still get beat because they have better players but to keep running the same tired zone that has been proven not to work against them was a mind-numbingly horrible decision. Butler gets some blame but it's ultimately Tomlin (who is a defensive guy) to approve the gameplan.

How anyone can say Tomlin doesn't deserve at least some blame for how the season ended or the predicament we were in after 6 games is beyond me.

Ayers had a double hernia.

4.....with this coaching staff? You'll need the following but it will not matter if they still play zone.

Joe Greene
Mel Blount
Rod Woodson
Greg Lloyd

The player needs are spot on.
I wish we would make a play for Stephon Gilmore.
Yes he could cost 10mil per season. However, he would make our CB duo pretty darn good.
If it were a choice between keeping Timmons and 5 mil for a few backups or Gilmore, I would take Gilmore.
Draft an ILB later to groom behind Vince.

1. Takk McKinley OLB
2. Evan Engram TE/WR
3. Raekwon McMillon ILB
4. Kareem Hunt RB
4c. Fish Smithson S

Did you see me blame losing on injuries? Nope. Did I say Tomlin doesn't deserve some blame? Nope.

What I said was (pay close attention): We were able to the AFCCG even with missing what may have been significant players (Heyward for some games, Bryant for the season, DHB for some games, Wheaton for some games, Bell for some games, DW for others). I also pointed out, with that terrible coaching and ****** D, the *'s scored only 2 more points than they scored on us years ago when you wont find anyone who disagrees that the D was better back then. Most would say way better coached. This when the league has changed so much to favor the exact O that the *'s run. Oh, and the *'s still cheat, just a different way back then. Note from SF81 below, apparently it wasn't just a ****** coach's decision which kept Ayers out of the game.

WTF does it matter where we were after 6 games? We MAY have gotten a bye instead of KC. We may not have. We, most likely, STILL end up playing at the *'s. MAYBE that extra week gets some folks some rest, but maybe it ***** up the rhythm. What we do know is we went on the road in KC and won. A lot of folks here thought we wouldn't. We even won without the O putting up 30, All I heard after the MIA and KC wins were excuses why we won.

That same ****** coach that got them in that position after 6 games got them to the AFCCG, too.

I, for one, can not believe Cooch is giving up on FIRST BALLOT HALL OF FAMER... I say again, FIRST BALLOT HALL OF FAMER whats his name... uh ... Anthony Chickillo.

you can remove #4 if you add brady retiring...........maybe

You haven't blamed him for one thing yet so how am I supposed to believe otherwise?

Remember, I said up until the AFCC game I considered Tomlin a good coach for how we finished the 2nd half of the season and made it to the AFCC. So everything you said up until the Pats game I would agree with how we overcame some injuries and suspensions and finished the season strong. Kudos for doing something us fans expected them to do at the beginning of the season and pretty much every season. BUT like you said, we still end up playing the Pats. You know, the team who eats zone defense alive. Yup, let's play zone the whole game, that'll show them. Cheating is just an excuse and you act like that makes them unbeatable. The Falcons just had them 28-3 BY PLAYING AGGRESSIVE MAN TO MAN DEFENSE. If not for an unprecedented offensive meltdown, they win that game by 2 scores.

Your argument really hinges on the fact they scored 2 more points against this D than a previous meeting which has nothing to do with the game that was just played? We lost to the Pats back then employing the same exact defensive tactics we just used to lose again. How is that good coaching???

And quit losing to bad teams and not having home field in the playoffs.

This is huge! Win the AFC and have teams go through Heinz Field. The Steelers are so much better at home in recent years and getting home field throughout the playoffs needs to be a goal heading into 2017.

I haven't blamed anyone for what happened in the *'s game (other than cheating), so not sure why it bothers you that I haven't criticized MR HEAD COACH MICHAEL VINCENT LOMBARDI TOMLIN. The idea that he should be fired for not winning the AFCCG is ******* laughable.

As to the part I bolded, if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
