I don't think there is any doubt this team is going to get a secondary player in the first three rounds of this draft. There is too much talent and depth based on my limited film study of the prospects to think otherwise.
If/when that happens, I have to think Gay becomes expendable. We need to get more talented in the group and adding Burns and Davis into the mix helped A LOT. Now you just have to keep upping the ante every year. You can't count much on Golson, but you hope he stays healthy and can play some man-under slot coverage or find some type of zone scheme where he can make plays on the ball. You get another CB with some size/height and length that can start learning how to play on the outside and things should improve.
Secondary play still comes down to scheme and pass rush almost as much as talent. And I think both of those are lacking right now in Pittsburgh.
