Here how I think it will play out. As much as a distraction that AB has been no one can deny his abilities on the football field. I think everyone will agree with that. The Steelers will try to sign him to an extension but the age factor of signing him long term at 29 and the past distractions will play into what the offer is. I think it will be a fair offer ranking up there with the top 2 or three receivers but I don't think they will break the bank and put him out there by himself. However I think that's what AB may be looking for and may not settle for less. In that case as much as it pains everyone you have to look for a trading partner willing to give up premium draft picks and one that will also pay him what he wants. It would be foolish for the Steelers to break the bank on some ridiculous contract for a 29 year old under sized receiver. What if he hits the wall in a couple years? Then you're stuck! I think it will come down to AB being happy with what the Steelers offer and if they can work it out where they don't break the bank and jeopardize signing other players. I'm afraid that AB will treat this like he does his stats. All about him and if that's the case you have to move on this year rather than next year where he signs with some team and you get nothing but a comp pick.
