I'm sure I'll get bashed for hating on Brown, but...

Hell all you need is any old scrub receiver who is quick and can catch 3-5 yard passes. A dime a dozen on those guys. Just ask the pats**** I'd stick more money into defense.

Brown is a great wr. But we need to have a great team. He can have 150 catches, but if they can't get to the super bowl then who cares? All of that diva **** needs to go. Team first at work always.

It's tough because you don't know what you have in Bryant, but I just can't see giving a wr 16 or 17 million to touch the ball 7-8 times a game, especially when we need help on defense. He's going to be 29 in July.
I like Madden's idea, you tag Bell this year and see how he does, let Brown play out his final year and see if he grows up. After 2017, you could tag Brown, and sign Bell long term if Bell stays clean and finishes the season. You then have Brown in 2018 at 31 years old, not sure how many good years he has after that, and if Ben is gone, you don't want to be paying a wr that much money if Ben isn't here.

I agree 100% I love the guy. I dont care about what he is like off the field. The only reason I would trade him is if we resign him it will be at 15-17 mill for a receiver that touches the ball 5-12 times a game. Trade him and get as much defensive help as possible.

Brown turned into a dancing diva that is me first, instead of team first.

His actions proved thisnover and over.

He's a damn good player, but he's is still just one hit away from being on IR too.

My feeling is Ben tried to talk to him a few times and he was ignored... and yoynjust don't ignore the big dick in the room and still expect to get the ball thrown your way every 3rd pass.

Over and over? Examples, please.

Every player is one hit away from IR. lol.

We'd be lucky to get one first round pick for AB. As good as he is, with no contract remaining, it just doesn't work that way. He would have to at least agree to sign an extension with the team even to consider anything near a first round pick for him. Don't forget, we gave away Santonio and he was considered a very top WR at the time who just won the SB for us.

Santonio was one joint from a year off, and he was NEVER in Brown's league as a player so please don't use that ridiculous ****. A couple good/great games, playoff run or not, don't make him better than he really was.

How many times did he get a penalty for dancing in the end zone or a penalty for celebrating a first down?

It's at least 3 times...

Good point. I wish more of our players had the chance for end zone dances.

Hardly a "wish he was gone" moment.

This may come down to AB vs Bell. Both will likely start their negotiation by asking to be highest paid at their position, and how can you really argue that? You may get them to take a bit less to help the team, but not much. Can the steelers really afford to have the highest paid RB and WR along with Ben and the big money for Pouncey and Decastro?

Shazier is looking like he'll have an expensive 2nd contract and hopefully Dupree as well in a few years.

If you cant keep both then you have to choose. I would choose Bell. I know RB is usually easier to replace but Bell is not a typical RB. He's like 2 players in 1 with his receiving ability.

I love Brown but I would trade him for the right deal. Hell, I would trade anyone for the right deal.

I wouldn't trade Brown or Bell

unless it was a Ricky Williams type deal.............

Santonio was facing suspension and wasn't quite the pedigree that Brown is, I think if you could find a team excited about what he could do for their offense and optimistic they could resign him, I could see getting a 1st rounder and maybe some change for him. Or the Steelers could use him to trade way up in the first.

I think if they were to trade him for a first round pick, a team would only entertain the thought if the Steelers accompanied their first with Brown. All this stuff coming out about him isn't helping his value. Take a team like Tennessee for example. Word is Brown is crying about not getting the ball. Well the Titans are an offense built on their ground game. If Brown were to go to Tennessee, you could pretty much say goodbye to 100+ catch seasons. Would Tennessee really wanna put up with what would Brown would be doing, if these reports are at all accurate? Hell no they wouldn't, especially with a young qb, and a young offense. Tennessee probably wouldn't even put their hat into the mix, and I'm sure there are other teams thinking the same thing.

Teams doubled Brown because the Steelers trotted out guys like Eli Rogers, Sammie Coates and Cobi Hamilton. If he has his head on straight, Martavis Bryant will be in for a big year, but until proven otherwise, he isn't dependable. Trade Brown and the Steelers need to sign a solid veteran and take a receiver in the first couple of rounds, IMO. Sorry, just not sold on the young guys who didn't make much of an impact week after week this year.

Jesus Christ can we just make it ******* stop. They aren't trading him.

You must be new here. Speculating about ridiculous trades without considering salary cap implications is a big part of what we do here. Welcome to SN.com. :beers::welcome:

Good for you posting what we all can see. Brown to concerned with self than team. If you watch replays to many times he stops on plays, his rote running is not outstanding. He has shown all he is full of his self. Tomlin has shown he can it control his actions.

This is a weak WR draft. Williams from Clemson may be the only 1st rounder and he's not a burner. If you were going to trade AB, this is a great opportunity.

Tennessee is the team that jumps out. They have a bunch of decent WRs but not a stud. They still want Mariota to take that next step. Tenn has a good OL and run game. AB and Delaney Walker would be a great duo with their other WRs now able to step up as role players. And that AFC South division is ripe for the taking.

Washington. They are probably going to give Cousins a big contract. They need to make that look good. Desean Jackson and Garcon may be on the way out. They drafted burner Josh Doctson in the 1st last year and he missed the year with injuries. AB and Doctson along with Josh Reed at TE and Crowder in the slot would give Wash some scary weapons.

Buffalo. They have watkins who is always injured and then nothing. I have no idea why they let Chris Hogan leave. He was a quality #2 and it's not like the Pats offered him a ton. Buffalo may be looking to draft a young QB and will need weapons to give him a chance.

Jets. Are they going with Hackenberg or drafting another QB? Brandon Marshall may have worn out his welcome. Trade Marshall and a 1st for AB? That would be a Jets move.

Chargers and Rams. Same reasons apply to both. LA is about stars and both need a splash player to put ***** in seats.

Eagles. They have a bunch of big WRs who drop balls. Wentz needs a go to guy. HC Doug Peterson favors a west coast style and AB is perfect for those quick throws with RAC potential. He would immediately elevate Jordan Matthews.

Carolina. They have big posssession WRs. They need a speed guy who can catch. Ted Ginn has been effective in that role and he sucks. Imagine AB in that role and on the many scramble plays with Cam.

AB to the Jets for Brandon Marshall??? Um, not just "no", but how about, "****. NO."

Can one of the mods please close this stupid-*** thread??

Trade him straight up to Seattle for Richard Sherman.

No thanks. Can't stand that d-bag and he would suddenly start being called for holding every play if he put on black and gold. He gets away with a lot penalties.

AB was literally double teamed the whole 2nd half of the season, of course he wasn't going to get as many chances

Lack of a second target was the problem. Blame Martavis.

I blame Haley on the conference game for not going for some Play action and some crossing routes that worked so well in the last couple of games

I think they stopped trying to protect against the run the very minute that Bell went out of the game. They just had to stop Brown at that point. If we had a second receiver it would've helped.

I said Marshall and a 1st rounder. You don't trade a guy like Brown for peanuts

I'm close to being for this trade. Ben Makes Brown elite, not the other way around!

Brown to the Titans ( who need WR's badly ) for their 5th and 18th pick.

Give me OJ Howard at pick #18 ( Should be on the board ) and trade down from the 5th pick, getting a mid first, and 2nd and a 4th, and using the 1st or 2nd on a WR.

Neither one looks as elite without the other and we are probably not a contender without both.

QB makes the wr, not the other way around, yes I'm sure there are exceptions
