In this article Ron Cook, who is an old school writer and doesn't make stuff up to create a stir, says Brown runs the wrong routes when he thinks he's not being used enough, either due to lack of focus, or worse on purpose.

Ron Cook wouldn't know if he was or wasn't running the wrong routes, so someone is obviously telling him this, but if this is the case and Brown was doing this ****, then so long! That's borderline sabotaging your team, maybe another reason Ben went public.

I know, I know, but it's AB, he's a great worker and amazing wr, and I'm an AB hater.

It starts at the top but don't worry, the top isn't going anywhere. We have 3 years top as our window, to replace the top coach would very much destroy that three year window.

Salute the nation

I'm close to being for this trade. Ben Makes Brown elite, not the other way around!

Brown to the Titans ( who need WR's badly ) for their 5th and 18th pick.

Give me OJ Howard at pick #18 ( Should be on the board ) and trade down from the 5th pick, getting a mid first, and 2nd and a 4th, and using the 1st or 2nd on a WR.

Ok 1.

Coates is trash. He's trash.

2.

Green just shouldn't be allowed to step onto a football field. Not for humanity's sake.

3.

Bryant is phenomenal. He's phenomenally talented and phenomenally questionable right now.

That leaves you with hoping you can resign Wheaton, who's Ok.

Then you have Rogers, also Ok.

And James... Again, Ok.

IF (big ole IF) you can add Brown, Bell and Bryant to that mix ~ you have a relatively decent offense. Steeler fans desperately need to stop believing that offense can put up 30 pts a game. They can't. They can sometimes. But Roethlisberger is entirely too opportunistic and frankly undisciplined to methodically rip a defense apart for a consistent 30 points a game.

I can fully understand why Brown was pissed. He was really kind of ignored for the entire 2nd half of the season. Here you've got one of the most dynamic receivers in the game and what does Haley do? He plays with his new toy pretty much exclusively. He flat out beat the living **** out of Leveon Bell to the tune of some 30 carries a game plus 5+ receptions quite often while Brown gets a few screens here and there, an occasional lob but he's primarily used as a decoy. I bet WAS pissed. Why WOULD you run the ******* designated route when you KNOW you're not going to see the ball when your only real job is to pull the safety back a bit so Leveon can get is 170 yards on the ground?

I bet he was irritated. Sure he wants to win. Sure he's happy that Bell is doing well. Would if ******* KILL Haley to use some play action now and then and remind folk that one of the top 3 receivers in the league is out there?

That's a lot for the Titans to give up for a player with one year left in his contract. But that's what I've been saying for a couple weeks, trade him while you can still get something for him.

Trade him straight up to Seattle for Richard Sherman.

We'd be lucky to get one first round pick for AB. As good as he is, with no contract remaining, it just doesn't work that way. He would have to at least agree to sign an extension with the team even to consider anything near a first round pick for him. Don't forget, we gave away Santonio and he was considered a very top WR at the time who just won the SB for us.

Bell averaged not quite 22 carries per game and just over 6 receptions. Is that too much?

That's true over the entirety of the season, but it's messing with statistics. My point has been that in the 2nd half of the season the Steelers pretty much began ignoring Brown. The numbers actually show that this is not accurate. However what the numbers show undeniably is that after week 10, Bell's running workload virtually doubled.

Meanwhile, as one would expect, Brown's catches dropped, but only marginally. One has to assume that something has to give though. Either Brown is drawing SO MUCH coverage that Leveon Bell is allowed the freedom to run because Brown is drawing an extra safety, or Haley is refusing to use the fact that extra safety help is being forced to cover the ridiculous talent that IS Bell and take advantage of some coverage gap with Brown.

Either way, You are clearly seeing Bell's numbers shoot WAY up in the 2nd half of the season, while your #1 guy, the guy who's essentially been there for you for years and worked his *** off to become one of, if not the top receiver in the game is asked essentially to run decoy routes for 90% of the game.

Ya, I expect he's pissed. He's a competitor. He want's the ball and Haley's too ******' stupid to use play action.

I'm just sayin' Is Brown acting out? Sure he is. Did the Steelers get themselves in a position where they have 3 world class players? Well ya? What did you think was going on with all that "Killer B" ****? But you can have all the killer B's in the world and they won't do a damn thing if the OC doesn't call a play action pass now and then to take advantage of 9 ******' guys loitering around the line of scrimmage waiting for Bell to make up his mind about which way he's going go to and make a linebacker or safety look stupid.

Ed Bouchette said he thinks they'll attempt to sign him, but if he's asking to much they'll look to move him

Jesus Christ can we just make it ******* stop. They aren't trading him.

Brown is signed for 2017. While I think he's elite with Ben, where was he in the playoffs? And when I say playoffs, I'm not talking garbage time vs Miami.

Anyone can be traded. It just take the right offer.

Are you a ******* ******* or what? Garbage time vs Miami? He had 100 yards in the first quarter.

A lot is relative. The Titans were 9-7, with Brown, they are 10-6 or better! Sure Tennesee can pick a WR, but 1 ) He'll be a rookie, and 2 ) Might bust or not even become a difference maker. There's also a Steeler connection here as LeBeau is familiar with Brown's work. Mularkey can be a creative type on offense, figuring out how to get Brown open.

Correction, as the garbage time statement was meant for Kansas City. My mistake.

vs Miami who had a banged up, Secondary, Brown did well. But tell me why he did so little vs KC ( Except for garbage time ) and very little vs New England?

And you want to entertain the idea of trading Brown for a mid-round pic who fits THAT description?

I would argue that Haley is so enamored of his new toy that he utterly forgets that he HAS Brown in the rotation at times. I think the Steelers fall into the trap of believe, much as Arizona did in the Superbowl against the Steelers that heavy coverage will shut Brown down (like Fitz) so the wise move is to focus on the other receivers who should have better coverage options.

However, as you remember as that SB began to get out of hand for Arizona, they finally HAD to go to Fitz and what did he do? He kicked the **** out of the coverage regardless. Perhaps the Steelers need to show some faith in Brown despite the coverage and let him make some plays.

I'm just sayin'. Is he or isn't he one of the top receivers in the league? Did he or didn't he get that ball across the plane vs Baltimore? 3 guys and a facemask and what did Antonio do? He delivered.

Use him!

Yah, he surely had a lot of garage time yards since we were up so big vs KC. He had a 56 yard reception in the second quarter and the biggest reception of the game to seal the game. Only the second receiver to ever have 3 straight hundred yard playoff games.

Brown doesn't make that 3rd down catch in KC with 2 minutes left...the Steelers lose that game IMO. You do not get rid of that kind of talent.

Eh. It's just a thought. I don't like the off season drama. Now it's Ben retiring, rumors about Brown, the team isn't disciplined...yadda yadda. But gotta converse on something for football

Santonio was facing suspension and wasn't quite the pedigree that Brown is, I think if you could find a team excited about what he could do for their offense and optimistic they could resign him, I could see getting a 1st rounder and maybe some change for him. Or the Steelers could use him to trade way up in the first.

One of our PGH writers said he would be hopeful to get a 1st for AB but more than likely a 2nd. No freaking way do I let him go for a 2nd. Even a 1st would be hard to digest. Most of the "AB is a bad teammate" bullshit is just that - bullshit. They said that about Ben for years and things turned out OK. 2 months ago, no one on here would have even considered getting rid of AB and I am still in that boat. No ******* way do I get rid of him until Ben retires. He is the best in the business, period. AB leaves and we have no chance at winning the SB while Ben is still playing.
