Should be 12 or 16. Until then, it's still a voting contest.
No - 4 teams is too many, get rid of the whole playoff system.
College is for education, not an NFL training league for the wealthy - 99% of college football players never play in the NFL.

Hmmm 12 with a bye for the top 4 teams?
When you have a team that couldn't win their conference, or even play in their conference championship game, playing for a national title, the playoff system is a sham. Especially if that conference's champion is not playing in the playoff.
It will expand, because what they have now, still doesn't work.
What does a college playoff have to do with the NFL?
I wholeheartedly agree, but having 4 of the 12 teams getting a bye would likely create a similar problem with the difference being who gets a bye week.

I agree 100% - colleges are for education. They are not an NFL farm system.
another month of games added to college football
another month of crippling life long injuries to student athletes that should be studying for finals

4 is fine and I'm a Penn State fan. But, if they were to expand, I wouldn't go any more than 8 teams. There really is no need. Football can't have a playoff like basketball, etc. It would go on for months. Even expanding to 8 teams means you need 3 weeks to get the playoffs in.
