We got a bunch of kids out there, they need to get some playing time, make their mistakes and learn team discipline. I don't see it all coming together this year while they still need a couple holes filled up.

Don't recall saying he was a finished product ... but, he's doing better than I thought he would.

I really hope they get rid of Mitchell. There is no bigger piece of **** on this entire team than him. Week after week after week it's the same thing. Chest beating, cheap shotting, no tackle making piece of ****. I'd say his angle on the Elliot screen pass was one of the dumbest efforts of a player that I've seen, but I am reminded of his bullshit against mike Wallace last week. If I'm not mistaken, the Steelers have his contract in such a way that it left them an out for the final years of his contract. I really don't know, but I swear I've heard that. He is garbage and, I hate to do this and agree with a rat, he really is fake tough.

I'll be surprised if he's on the team next year, he brings nothing when it comes to defending passes and he is terrible at tackling. Terrible angles and awful technique. I don't think I've disliked a Steeler player more than him.

I loved when we signed him. I thought he would be a faster version of Ryan Clark. Boy was I way off the mark on this one.

yeah he was a product of a elite Panther D at the time, the pass rush made him look more attractive than he really was.

A big swing and miss.

beside a NT and a OLBer a FS is needed.


3 needs besides a new D coach. Won't all come from the draft........... Just too many holes.

I swear Mitchell was a better player when we first got him. What the hell has happened to him? Slowed down already? He usually seems a day late and a dollar short on plays, not to mention he has trouble getting guys to the ground.

Bunch of stiffs on the DL are pathetic, got steamrolled for 220+ up the gut on the ground.

He's always been kinda bad. He doesn't suit what the Steelers ask. These guys aside from Heyward, Shazier and Williams are not Steelers system players. Even when guys like Ike or Deshea got beat Clark was usually in position to make a stop. Mitchell is not. The front 7 gets whooped week in and week out. Whatever though. It was still a good game that came down to the last minute

Tired of reading this. Then build a system around your guys that they can play. Other teams do it. Hell...the cowboys had a rookie 6th round pick starting at CB covering AB all over the field.

Pretty much. The "Steeler system" died in 2010, guess they haven't figure that out 6 years later.

Hey, it was a good game with piss poor officiating on both sides. That Dez TD was soooooooo much bullshit it made me puke. HE PUSHED OFF TWICE and the refs just watched and that goes on top of him pushing off and drawing a flag on William Gay. I know Burns is a rookie and the refs aren't going to give him a lot of calls but that was total bush league. But we face masked twice and they only caught the second one so we got lucky... kinda there.

Bottom line we are at best a playoff team right now. We need to get things turned around and turned around quick though. Dupree needs to get back and start contributing. Green needs to keep getting reps and improving. Mitchell needs to quit pounding his chest and start taking better angles. But if things don't change we aren't going anywhere this year.

So the long and short is we have the ability to get in the playoffs and do damage and problem is time is running out to make that run to get in and get to the super bowl.

I will say this too there was some blatant PI and illegal contact/holding going on from the Cowboys secondary that went uncalled all game long. The one two pointer, Brown was pretty much tackled out of the end zone before the ball was thrown, and how about the one to Green where the ref was literally looking at him the entire time?! And my ******* God, Troy Aikman was a bleeding vagina last night and did not offer a fair broadcast one big.

True, Brown on Brown crime all over the field. Since when does a 6th rounder get free reign to mug one of the best receivers in the league with no penalties called? The standard is the standard obviously...just like holding Harrison used to never garner a penalty because of his dominance now we get to watch the same **** show from the zebras allowing anything to slow down Brown? Wth is going on here?

And I'm not saying the refs even cost us that game, we did plenty to blow it on our own accord, but there was some serious mugging going on out there yesterday.
 
It's not so much that they lost to a 7-1 team, but it's the same way they have lost to 1-7 teams. Offense can score 30+ and the defense can't protect ANY sized lead in the 4th qtr.
