Ben to Have Surgery

After that poor attempt of a pass from Landry and the coaching staff having an injured Ben go back into the game, they have little to zero confidence in Jones. Why he is on the team is a mystery. Has to be $ and hoping Ben doesn't go down. Also, on that series, LBell has two really good runs to get back 14 of the 15 yards back after the penalty and they let noodle arm throw it. Stupid!

MAYBE but did Landry not win a game against the Cardinals LAST Year? Also, I struggle to know the name of many backups in this league. Fact is mast every team will have a large fall off if going to the backup UNLESS the starter sucks too.

RUN the **** out of the ball, this week. Lull NE to passiveness, then throw a deep ball...

they can win...

"Can" is a relative term.

I would give the Steelers a chance against just about any other team, but not without Ben and Heyward against THAT team with the combination of skill, talent AND shady **** that goes on with them. No way.

STEELERS have not been designed/drafted for actual football. Been designed for fantasy. It's about the splash, not about the season.

We could/should have a solid team...but who knows, maybe the game plan will change on both sides and surprise us all....

You heard it here first... Landry is going to beat the pats... It will be flukey... Maybe even rigged... And it will convince the FO that he is the long term solution at qb... Because thats the worse case in this matter and we always get worse case

Yeah, and Trump is going to win in a landslide, carrying California and New York.

Ben has more lives than a cat, and it pertains to both a football season/career and an overall life perspective.

Most people would have been killed from brain trauma in that 2006 motor cycle incident, and he has escaped three or four potentially season-ending injuries over the past five seasons.

He's a trooper.

Let's not forget he almost died from a toe injury a few years ago.

I don't like the idea of his first game back playing in Baltimore one ******* bit.

If this team pushes him back and he gets more beat up because he can't move in the pocket with his braced knee and now we're talking about a wrist or ankle (again!) or broken rib for the rest of the year...

Last thing we need is another December when every game the announcers show a picture of Ben's body with all the injuries on it. That kind of **** is supposed to be in the past and everything about this offense is supposed to MAKE that in the past.

The ganja is strong with this one.
The fact that the Pats**** are playing here and not at home where they can cheat more with headsets etc., means they will only hang 49 on this defense.
Take the Pats**** and the points no matter what the spread is.

Reality, not negativity says we were going to have a hard time beating NE even with Big Ben since our D is so dinged up. Without Ben, the reality is it is going to be UGLY for us.

The game's in Pittsburgh. So maybe the Steelers can come up with their own shady ****.

Agreed. Couple of ideas:

1. OVERinflate the balls. Landry won't attempt more the 2-3 passes, let's see how GQ Brady likes his footballs pumped to 18+ psi
2. Pump Pittsburgh Oldies Radio into Pats' headseats throughout the game. Belichik will have a tear in his eye and be overcome by emotion by the 2nd half
3. Hire kinky Thai masseurs for Pats pre-game rub down. The players will miss kick-off and maybe even 1st quarter. We jump to an early lead, take the air out of the ball, easy victory.
4. Pass out frat keg party / wet t-shirt contest fliers on Pats team bus, Gronk will never make it to stadium.
5. Oldie but goodie, add laxitives to Pats sideline Gatorade. They'll never know what hit them.

We can get this thing done, without Ben, it's our only chance.

Jam the radio, cut it off, hack their radio codes, mic up our linemen.Send a third string linebacker in to ear hole Brady blindsided full speed. Take out frat boys knees since we can't hit him high. Throat bunch their WRs at the line. Anyone running that 5-10 yard crossing route over the middle gets killed 70,s style.... if you're going to cheat go all out. They do. **** the pats ****

There are reports that some in the New England media are speculating Ben will play and don't believe he will miss the game. They're saying Phillip Rivers and Marques Colston had the same exact injury, had the surgery early in the week and were back playing on Sunday. And Colston's a receiver where there's more stress on the knee.

He's not playing, he's been ruled out.

I hear that point completely. But I also look at it from the "on field" perspective. I want him back as soon as possible because his first game back he'll throw 2 or 3 INTs, one of which will be a dagger in the second half that costs us the game. I'd rather get all that out of the way as early as possible so he can get back to being himself.

Now Mort is saying 4-6 weeks. WTF?

Sorry for no link, just got the ESPN notification on my phone

Just got an ESPN update saying Ben could now miss 4-6 weeks. Per Mortensen

I'll take the under. Said 4-6 last year and he was back in 3

I saw the article. Dr said there was still some stuff in there crim a bone bruise which may add to recovery time. I still think he will be back in 4.

"may add"
Ben knows the potential of this offense and the dreadful state of the defense.

back after the bye.

Ben Roethlisberger Injury: Steelers QB Could Miss 4-6 Weeks After Surgery

"Doc says my knee looked good, but there still was some stuff in there from when I had my bone bruise last season in St. Louis,” Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “He said that might keep me out a little longer than just a simple meniscus tear. Maybe an extra week or so. But there’s no way to put an exact timetable on it. It all depends on my pain and how I feel.”
