Who gets cut ?

Steelers have placed CB Senquez Golson and RT Ryan Harris on injured reserve. CB Al-Hajj Shabazz and OT Matt Feiler have been promoted to the active roster.

Senquez Golson will never play a down for the Steelers. And Ryan Harris? Hematoma = IR? What the hell?

Yeap, makes no sense at all. When first diagnosed I thought he wouldn't even miss the next game

Harris doesn't have a hematoma. You don't IR someone for a hematoma. I'm surprised that their first move wasn't to IR Wallace. He hasn't played a down, and we're doing fine without him.

The only thing that really concerns me about the move to add 2 players to IR, is perhaps Bud Dupree will not come off of IR, but Harris or Golson have a chance to in December.

You can only remove one person from IR each season.

Harris on IR.is significant depth loss. I wonder just how ready Matt Feiler is and are the Steelers looking for a veteran OT......................

fuckity **** ****. Plays all freaking year and on the SB winning team to get a ring, and hurt/out for the year in the first ******* game he plays for us.

its a box of **** for backs, take the best one if neaded Jake Long

Hematoma. I could swear Tomlin gets his medical information from Doctor Nick Rivera. How the **** do you go from a Hematoma to the IR. That's like going to the ER for a hang nail and leaving with an amputation.

I have one on my left knee area right now. Granted I am not as young or in the physical condition of professional athletes but I am still limping along and have more therapy to go through. By the end of the next physical therapy session it will be 6 weeks and I am still in lots of pain from this. I can imagine how hard it would be for someone expected to perform at a high level of physical activity with one of these. At 4 weeks into a 16 week season and the possibility of him not being ready to play till the end of the season it might just make sense to make room for another player.

What's the scoop on Shabazz?

Salute the nation

thing is..............

I prefer that player not to be a PS player.

You brought Harris in for depth concerns, in the mean time we lost a promising rookie T, Harris, and have Gilbert hobble horsing it with a multitude of injuries.

So as a response you sign a PS player?

really?

I love what they do with most of the team, but this sitting on their hands **** is mind numbing.

1 Polamalu leaves no vet brought in.
2 Following year CB a problem area, but don't attack it in free agency)
3 Now T a problem, brings in a PS player despite having the coin to bring in a experienced T.

And a few of yinz will be like who?

Well you attack your list you put together in the offseason and bring them in for tryouts. 3 or 4 of them.

For me it is stop acting like what is on the roster is enough.

Coming up short year after year proves at times you need to give it a depth push.

This is one of those times.

Colbert I am focusing in on you more than anyone..........

But if we bring in someone from the outside they will have to take time to learn the system. Isn't the point of the PS to keep the players you want ready to go should they need to be called up rather than having to go outside? If we did not see something in these people why do we keep them?

You keep them to develop them. You bring someone from the outside in because of NFL been there done that -experience. Experienced vets shouldn't take that long to fit in scheme. Especially O-linemen and D-linemen.

I feel a lot more comfy with a proven vet over a never have proven PS player.

And if you really want to bring up a PS player at a depleted position you still bring in a vet and let them compete.

It is my understanding the players on the practice squad were the ones they considered the best of the folks they had already brought in. Anyone gone was signed by another team or they did not want. I believe we recently went the route of signing a vet who hurt himself in warmups and never played a down for the steelers. I believe that both approaches have been tried and the team may like the practice squad guy better than what is out there. One thing to remember there are some folks on the staff who primarily look to see who is out there they could bring in. One of the guys was interviewed during training camp and he explained the system and process a bit in an interview. The main point is the steelers are always looking to up grade the talent level of the team. They consider many things with the players one of which is cost. Some guys that are available just cost to much, or have a medical that does not seem to warrant the risk which we never see.

Not sure I buy they cost too much when they are sitting at home without a job. But I did notice some of the ones I looked at were injured retired from the list provided.

I just home the are not going with this is how we do things and don't adjust when "other" options are needed.

As it seems like sometimes that is the case.
