Every draft pick COULD make final roster

well their 1st second rounder is going to be the opening day punt and kick returner

The lack of a 5th helps their cause. Perhaps a rookie at OLber will be a hard sell to squeeze a spot on the roster............

unless he kicks *** on special teams

true

which with his speed I would think he has a fair chance. His health will probably tell his story come 53.

damn...meant to type 1st seventh rounder.....because yes Ayers will have that job....and take over the slot receiver position by years end

I kind of doubt he takes over at slot. I think it's more likely that Wheaton moves to slot and Coates takes over #2 WR AND we still have Hey-Bay in the mix too.

Ayers will have a tough time in seeing the field much other than returns, unless we have injuries. I think the team knows they will let Wheaton hit free agency, can't pay everyone and other teams would be upgraded by Wheaton. He is pretty good, came on in some games last season.

He had 8 sacks and 17.5 TFL his final season. If he can get to the QB, they will find a way to keep him. He's on the smallish side (lite not short), but he can add 10-15 lbs to that frame.

And there is Eli Rogers in the mix as well. If this guy can stay healthy he will be a interesting watch....

I think he takes Shark's place on ST and Shark has to actually be a S or is let go.

could be the first time in a while that more than 4 draft picks make the 53 and contribute. Both LB's are built more for the new spread O and both can play the run cover and pass rush, Both need about 10 LBS and they should push hard to land a roster spot next to Vince Williams, if Feeney impresses maybe JJ gets cut as Moats has when asked to line up at rolb done fine.

He seems a little faster than Ayers; ran a 4.47. I know Ayers was dinged when he ran combine, but even watching video of him playing, he doesn't seem all that fast, more quick.

I personally think he's an ILB - but, eh, we'll see...

You're big on Ayers. Hope he lives up to the expectations. He sounds legit from what you say. His highlight reels were pleasant to watch. I'm rooting for him to be a special Steeler

Coolie, man you sure ooze the confidence in that kid. I sure hope you're right! I watch zero college football because I'm an Indiana fan, and well, not much to watch there so I'll take your word on him.

Would kinda make up for the '08 and '09 drafts then.... /sarcasm

I'm not sure that was as sarcastic as you think it was. Almost all bad picks those two years.

These guys were all starters at some point, and Johnson is still playing, back with the Steelers. Nowhere near as bad as the 08 class. I'd consider this class above average.

1 32 Ziggy Hood DT Missouri - Sure he played, even started, but he was worthless. A first round pick who is worthless? That is NOT a good draft pick.
3 79 Kraig Urbik T Wisconsin - Cut within a year. That's not considered a good pick.
3 84 Mike Wallace WR Mississippi - God value, but ended up being an immature ***.
3 96 Keenan Lewis DB Oregon State - Gone
7 226 A.Q. Shipley C Penn State - cut before season started

I don't know who Johnson is.
