Could three rookies really start on defense?

I see how you went here but I was referring to our Men of Steel STEELERS team. VS. his candy *** ***** breath make up wearing CHEATRIOTS team. BUT I can see the POPs as being transgender possibility too !!!!

Please stop calling Pop transgendered. It's not cool.

...and they're starting to complain about the comparison...

Clark ******* Haggins wasn't better than your grandmother, but he started for half a ******* year over Woodley. I'll take the occasional mistake for the occasional strip sack/splash play a talented young player can bring.

Joe

yes he was. and he should have started over Woodley for a few games.

I see Hargrave having the greatest opportunity for the most play time and impact.

Hampton started week one as a rookie. Much less to screw up at NT. You blow it at CB or S, and it's a TD in a blink of an eye.

And they say to not judge people of they drink Iron City. Here is iron clad proof that you can. Drinkers of Iron City have low IQ's and limited education. But, he has learned how to read and write, so he could be worse.

I know someone mentioned this in another thread, but it probably deserves it's own....

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...lin-steelers-could-have-three-rookie-starters

When Hall of Famer Dick LeBeau was running the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense, it was exceedingly rare for a rookie to earn a starting job.

That's no longer the case under Keith Butler, who altered the defense with more zone looks after taking over for LeBeau in 2015.

There's a chance for first-round cornerback Artie Burns, second-round safety Sean Davis and third-round nose tackle Javon Hargrave to play major roles on a defense that ranked 21st in yards allowed and 30th against the pass last year.

"I believe it's realistic," coach Mike Tomlin said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "That's why we chose them where we chose them. But they have to earn it, and we'll give them the opportunity to do that."

That's not even including 2014 second-round cornerback Senquez Golson, who missed his entire rookie season to shoulder surgery.

Although defensive line coach John Mitchell indicated that Hargrave's primary role figures to be spelling standout defensive ends Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt, the defensive backs have a chance to overtake left cornerback Ross Cockrell and strong safety Robert Golden atop the depth chart.

Tomlin is counting on Burns, Davis and Golson to upgrade a leaky secondary that was the team's Achilles' heel last season.

Starting in terms of being in the line up for 1st down in a game is one thing, and in some positons really does not mean much. I would say three rookies are exepcted to play a bit more than usual.

What Tibs is saying your NOT picking up what he is a laying down. Having a brain (football oriented) will help comprehend the playbook faster. Look at Boykin as an example. Seemed to have some instincs but couldn't get the play assignments. (Also more things than just that). POINT made. Do brains guarantee GREAT PLAY, no but then neither does instincs. HELLO !!!

I don't know Tibs physical atributes but his football knowledge is very good. Now dealing with a instinctive guy, transgender team fan, (this is you POPs) I can see it's hard to communicate with him. Or maybe it's just the instinctive load that is slowing things down. In any event, until you see live action play, combined with the smarts and the instinctive side, you can't determine good or bad, what one has or doesn't. I'll go with Tibs and Carnell LAKE on this one........ Big time !!!!!

You apparently can't grasp what "instincts" mean. I will try, but I am not confident I can get you to grasp this point.

in·stinct
noun
plural noun: instincts
ˈinstiNG(k)t/
an innate, typically fixed pattern of behavior in animals in response to certain stimuli.
"birds have an instinct to build nests"
a natural or intuitive way of acting or thinking.
"they retain their old authoritarian instincts"
synonyms: natural tendency, inherent tendency, inclination, urge, drive, compulsion, need; More
a natural propensity or skill of a specified kind.
"his instinct for making the most of his chances"
synonyms: talent, gift, ability, aptitude, faculty, skill, flair, feel, genius, knack, bent
"his instinct for music"

In other words, "instincts' are things that are not taught or learned. You either have them or you don't. This is exactly why the entire draft process cannot be pinned to measurables, such as forty times, etc. Scott Shields had great size and speed....and he sucked.

With instincts, you have a "feel" for when to run where. If you take two steps the wrong way, it doesn't matter how fast you are.

Now, you can drone on about how this guy know 5 languages and can cite the play book inside and out, but (and I know you have trouble grasping this) that doesn't mean he has good instincts. The two are totally unrelated.

You apparently can't grasp what "instincts" mean.
POP you apparently can't grasp how full of **** you are.

So this is your latest pet project, that you're going to convince us (for who knows what reason) that Sean Davis lacks instincts, a "feel" for when to run where.

Explain to me - cause I'm at least twice as dense as Drink IRON City is - how a player that lacks instincts:

1. can lead his team with 70 solo tackles, finishing with 88 overall last season?
2. have five forced fumbles which were the second-most in Maryland single-season history and rank second nationally?
3. can rank third in the Big Ten with 5.8 solo tackles/game?
4. can become the first Maryland player to record 200 career solo tackles since current NFL star D'Qwell Jackson in 2005?
5. can post at least four tackles in every game in 2015?

**** POPs, you kind of lost me............I mean you know with all that beer talk and drinking it........... **** for a minute I wanted to go ride your dark water slide. Then I realized how in-stink-tive that ud be. Say hi to clete's teet and his maid while you instinctively share a ride. Maybe you could drink some IRON City while and roast marshmallows. fuq can't think of noting else to say as my IQ isn't working right now. Can you give me a web site so as I can buy some more????? Oh, and where did you get the word meaning book, I want ones of them also. thank you for your response and smile.

Jeez, to me it sounds like the kid knows where to be. In other words, he must have some pretty good football instincts. Of course, you're also arguing with someone who said that Sean Davis is not a solid tackler. A safety who had over 300+ total career tackles but isn't a sound tackler.

He's a lot like Polamalu. Pola drove me nuts acting like a missile, going head first at people's legs, only to step around him and pickup yardage. If you can get 5FFs in a season, it's worth it to launch and miss a few times.

Would you happen to know or have heard his concussion count.?? Troy had several before even entering the NFL. Just curious on Davis?

I don't know. I don't follow college, but I do know it didn't come up as an issue in anything I read about him. With 400+ tackles, I'm sure he wouldn't have hit that number by missing time due to concussions.
