2016 NFL Draft

Maybe not CB. I would have liked Spence, Billings, Nkemdiche, or Alexander. Or a trade down. Lots of other options that would have been more palatable to me.

Spence, Billings nor Alexander were picked in the first.

And exactly what would have been the downside of waiting 9 more minutes.

Clearly they had Burns stacked high enough on their board that they weren't gonna trade the pick. It is what it is. Love it or hate it they wanted Burns right were they got him.

Gay, Cockrell, Golson and Burns at CB. Maybe not too bad.

I don't see immediate starter..................That is Gay and Cockrell and Golsen in the slot.

I like the pick.

I just wish they would knock it off with the rush to the podium which has been their M.O. since the Noll years. It was also my biggest beef with the Timmons pick. In 2007 there was a sliding QB and a team looking to trade up.

Of course in light of the WAPO study on draft value maybe there approach is best, results indicate that it could be....but maybe it could be better with more picks.....

I was hoping for immediate starter. Maybe his work ethic and ability to avoid mistakes, even if not making splash plays, puts him in the starter spot.

I was warming to the idea that Jackson would be gone and we'd take Apple. Some of the NFL.COM mocks had the Steelers taking Burns even with Jackson on the board.

Billings wasn't selected. I was pissed at first but I'm alright now. And for the record Colbert told the scouts yesterday that Burns was their man. So Bengals didn't **** us

A number of mocks had Burns going to Kansas City at 28. He was gone so Kansas City traded the pick. He wouldn't necessarily been there at 31.

He is essentially Ike Taylor with better hands and having faced better competition. I like the character, his Mother sudenly dies and he takes responsibility
for his two younger brothers.

Well if they could somehow jump up in the second and get a quality DT I could live with it. That would have been doable with the third they would have gotten from Denver. I can't hate on Artie Burns. He didn't pick himself. Welcome to the Steelers Artie. But for anyone who is mad at the complainers " Jarvis Jones and Dri Archer"

My sources tell me AZ was selecting Burns if he was there. Take it for what you will

Agreed, but when the Steeler's lock into their guy they pull the trigger. Numerous teams were/are trying to trade back into the 1st round. We could have easily picked up a pick or two.

What if, say at pick 20, Denver just went ahead and started to negotiate with Seattle? You know, because not every team wants or has to trade with the Steelers. And who's to say that, if there even was a ******* offer on the table, that it was the same as they offered Seattle? I guess I'm not singling your post out specifically but the whole idea of trading down. A lot of you guys seem to think the **** is a slam dunk when there's Atleast a 50% chance that it's not quite the cinch it seems. Anyways, the bungles drafted a guy at a position they have absolutely no need for. And those ******* wanna sit there and say that they're in the steelers heads?

I hope we wind up with Alexander in the 2nd so we can have another round of Timdong/Woodley comparison bitchfests for another few years. It'll be glorious.

yinz should see if Goodell will give us a do over 'cos yinz Mum 'n 'Em know more than Colbert and Tomlin.

****** a.

Get the flags ready. Wanted Jackson, was going to be OK with Billings. Gotta give some credit to Tombert for identifying a glaring weakness on the squad and trying to address it. The spring to the podium was idiotic... But not a huge surprise. Going forward Burns is our guy. Leave it at that. Go Steelers

I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about how long it took them to turn in their card. You honestly think they watch the Simpsons and when its their turn they just gather around and make their pick? Like they're always in discussion with teams. They turned down Denver.

I realize that. They all have their warts. My problem is they took the fifth best CB on the board in the first round. They could have filled another need and probably got a similar player in the second. Or they could have traded back and still got him. Clark or Butler could have also been had. My preference was for the guys I mentioned.

Ask yourself, honestly, do you think he was BPA? Or did they reach for need? In my opinion there were better options out there for 1-25.

OK. I'm over it. He's a Steeler now. I hope he becomes great.

And you know they turned Denver down how ? Of course by waiting the extra 9 minutes Denver or another team could have sweetened their offer and if not we can still reach and draft the mediocre Burns.

They must really love Burns OR hate extra draft picks. Either way. They got their guy

One of these years, the Steelers are going to race to the podium and get a Hall of Famer...

PPG writer to be named later stated that they turned down Denver. They wanted Burns. He was their #1 ranked CB and we needed a CB do they got their guy.

Let me explain it this way.. say you're hell bent on picking Antonio Brown in your fantasy football draft.. do you trade down and hope he's still there or do you take your guy and be quick about it?
