Coach where are you getting info listing Nassib as an OLB prospect? Every site I've checked lists him as a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DT. Ive also read on multiple sites that Artie Burns is a bad fit for the style of defense we play.
He's not listed as an OLB prospect on draft sites, however, he did LB drills and looked good. Many of the OLB's we pick are DE players in college. Porter, Gildon, and Woodley to name a few. We make them OLB's. Nassib is smart and has rare character / effort.
At 277 pounds,Nassib shined in the drills needed to play OLB in a 3-4 base. And he can move into our 4-3, nickel or dime defense at DL, which we play most of the time.
40-yard dash: 4.84 (13 of 57)
Broad jump: 114 inches (t18 of 53)
3-cone drill: 7.27 seconds (13 of 50)
20-yard shuttle: 4.37 (9 of 52)
For those unfamiliar with what is a good testing result, a 4.37 20 yard shuttle is amazing for a player his size ( 277 pounds ). A 4.37 20 yard shuttle is good for a safety! Nassib time in the 3 cone drill was also impressive. He's got short-area quickness and change of direction ability. This also shows on the clips I've seen.
Many think Bosa is the best pass rusher in the draft. Compare him to Nassib in 2015.
Bosa 2015:
51 Tackles
15 For a Loss
5 Sacks
1 INT
0 FF
4 Passes batted
Nassib 2015:
46 Tackles
19.5 For a Loss
15.5 Sacks
1 INT
6 FF
1 pass batted
The Steelers meet with Nassib at the combine. He's my favorite pick in round two, and I'd be okay with him in round one.
