It was only 3 years.... but it was by his own admission his favorite 3 years of his career --- another Steeler to add to the Hall of Fame wing that belongs to Steeler Nation

So does he go in as a Steeler? How is that determined?

Football does not go in a primary for any team. Technically, Franco Harris is a HoF for Seattle, but teams recognize more who were primary contributors for their respective teams.

Somewhere, Diamond Dave owes me on a bet that we made on Greene getting in...... pay up DD!

f-kin A

congrats Kevin!

BTW he hung out at Sharkey's here and there.

His heart is in Pittsburgh !

Congrats, Mr Greene!

A very much-deserved honor for one of the all-time great pass rushers

Its a shame Gregg Lloyd was such an *** to the media... it might be time to get him a look...lol

Seriously though... Greene really did redefine the OLB/ rush DE position in a way. his sacks and theatrics overshadowed the rest of his game. He deserved it even if some of the old school hardheads were purposely downplaying his career... it was like Swann in a way... how long do you penalize a all time great player because of something trivial, like playing too short or having a one dimensional stat line?

not sure that hm being a *** has anything to do with it. More so a career cut short due to injury.

In hindsight, I wish the Steelers resigned him for 3-4 more years.

Well deserved Kevin. Congratulations!

Ol Brett giving his congrats

HUGE congratulations to my friend and GREAT football player Kevin Greene! Lucky to have his influence on my career.

In hindsight, I wish the Steelers resigned him for 3-4 more years.

It was more a matter that that was an expansion draft year and teams could only protect 30 players (I think) and a lot of teams left their high-priced FA's unprotected so Carolina took him in the expansion draft.

In his day KG was one of the baddest dudes in the league. Well deserved.

Congratulations, Kevin! One of my all-time favorite players. His picture graces the wall in my home office.

I think from coming fron a hand down DE to a stand up OLB allowed his true form to bossom. Loved him from day one in our system.

Salute the nation

Lloyd won't be in due to that staph infection that ended his career prematurely. Had he been able to finish his last 3 years relatively healthy, he would have made it.

Long over due, IMO.

Congrats Mr. Greene!

Combine that with the injury to start his career late, missing 87 and 88 but blossoming fast in 89 and really taking it to another level in 92 -- he was the heart and soul of that team in 1995 and should have been DPOY.

Its a tough call between him and Harrison as to who was better.... I'm hoping James plays a few more years to add a few to his stat line even as a part timer and gets a well deserved look as his career was too short (he never should have went to Cincy damn it).

But to me, Kevin Greene is a Steeler, **** the other teams.

James Harrison will at worse be a third ballot hof player. People overrate how many total effective years hof players really have... Most only have a few dominant seasons... Longetivity can get you in, but if you have signature contributions and highlights its not needed... A Dpoy several magnificent seasons the super bowl td and the notoriety of the goodell fued its hard to talk aniut this era without james harrison... He is the second safest bet from the Lebeau D era to make it, behind only Troy...

If Davis makes the Hall of Fame for a couple of dominant seasons at running back, then Harrison should absolutely make it.

Davis has to also fight the system issue... Namely that 3 other rbs replaced him with little or no drop off in production... And he still probably makes in it eventually...
