New coaching hires are laughable.....

Chip Kelly I feel can be a great coach but I don't let him sniff the front office. He can have input but I would have a GM run the team and Chip run games/practices. Doug Pederson was a career backup QB. But you tell me how a guy sticks around for 12 years and plays under Mike Sherman and not have something going on between his ears.

I personally feel Tomlin is an overrated coach. I feel he fell into a great situation and has been riding the Roethlisberger coattails since he was hired. I mean it's not his fault Cowher quit and Art the duece hired his token to prove his progressiveness. If Tomlin really wants to prove he's a great coach I want to see a win on Sunday with no AB, Williams, and a banged up Roethlisberger.

While I agree with the premise that Tomlin is overrated somewhat, that is an almost impossible standard for any coach. Would Belechick win out in Denver in the playoffs with no Gronk, a banged up Brady and 4th string RBs? You can say, yea, he won that year he had to play Cassel. But he didn't. He didn't even make the playoffs.

I do think the coaching searches of these various teams does reveal that most of these hires are just blah. Nothing really exciting. Maybe Jackson in Cleveland as I think he did nice things in Cincy. But it illustrates something I have been saying about Tomlin. Maybe he isn't the greatest, but dammit, if you are going to make a move it had better be for something better, and I just don't see it in these hires.

Look at the patriots record this year and ours. You think we've had injuries? Lmfao the pats have had way more injuries. For the love of God James white is their starting RB Edleman and all their receivers missed multiple games. Gronk has been out. Their line is banged up. Defense banged up. We've had the injury bug they had the injury Ebola virus.

Anyone who actually paid attention to the Steelers and the hiring process of Tomlin would know that Ron Rivera was interviewed BEFORE Tomlin. The idea that any owner of an NFL franchise would hire someone based solely on the fact that they are a minority with no other qualifications is flat out stupid. I laugh at your proposition and your thought process. However, if the Rooneys had only wanted to satisfy some perception that they had to hire a minority because they championed the "Rooney Rule", they would have hired Rivera and been done with it.

Grimm was, and seriously probably was going to get it... the strong rumor, I mean rock solid one is he let alcohol get in the way... the guy was as hard core a drinker as there was, and if the Prusuta Story rumors are true, and I suspect they were because I heard them from a lot of different people up around Latrobe and the North Side who have a clue, then there is a real reason he went from a highly sought after candidate for a HC job to an afterthought in a single season.


Tomlin may ultimately prove to have been the best choice for us, but Rivera is certainly making a real case for himself... Whiz Took the sure thing in Arizona and ultimately was sold out by the cheapskate owner... In Tennessee he never got a real shot. How that would have changed if he had ownership support from the get go, who knows

They didn't lose Brady at all. Yes, they have had injuries, but they are getting healthier at the end here.

I don't know who had the worst of the injuries. They both had them. But I would take a situation in which I had injuries, but my franchise QB started every game over what the Steelers had.

Just saw this. And you're exactly right. That's what does happen. It's why some minorities refused to interview with the Giants this year after it was widely reported that the Giants had already settled on their OC as the next HC and were just going through the motions.
