Why is no one talking about that "bum" Blake???

If your so hung up on our def being too low to win, why continue to watch and post if your outcome is already determined? If someone finds something will you feel better? Did anyone at the 6 seed ever win the SB before. No not until WE ******* did!!!! And we're going to do it again.

This is so illogical I don't even have a response.

His tackling is bad, but he plays well with the ball in front of him and if you haven't noticed guys like Mitchell do the same Hit-hard-don't-wrap-up style he does... His hips suck in the backpedal... he plays ok in zone, but he does allow a lot of completions still....

in any case, had shazier not slammed that first fumble out, there would be a lot of talk about him coming inside on that long play and giving the runner the sideline free. A lame duck pick doesn't really make up for all the crap coverage and tackling he has given us

I think the fact he had or still has a broken hand with a cast on is why is tackling has sucked so bad. But his covering skills still blow.

I think he had a pretty poor rating in both last year too... he is just an undersized hitter... as mentioned many times before, hed make a better safety than CB. he doesn't play badly when everything is in front of him... its when he is trying to use his hips he gets burned... Allen at safety has allowed a ton more plays than you'd think just cause he is a half step slower than youd like there. I think Blake is faster, and I think he has better ball in the air skills. I also think we run more zones with him in there and go to cockrell when we are running man more, which is the ONLY thing that makes sense, since man is based of talent and skill and zone is a ton of reads and blake is the only guy outside gay who was on this roster for more than a year

Blake has had some good moments in a few other games as well. But do those few good moments make up for pitiful tackling and coverage most of the time? I kind of seriously doubt that.

I used to defend him, earlier in the season, but after seeing him look the fool more often than not, I can no longer defend his play. We are the 3rd worse passing D in the entire NFL and he is part of that unit.

If history tells us anything, it's that the 3rd worse passing D won't be able to win a ring.

Do you ever post anything without a complaint attached?

Yup, it was Willie Gay and Mike Mitchell who got toasted...

We were fortunate that score happened when it did. My fear at the time was that they would use up all the clock and score. That 1:50 they left us amounted to enough time for us to win albeit NOT how I had hoped. Sure, I would have preferred a defensive stop, but if not, the quicker score was a blessing.

Can you find any #s where a team won it all with a pass D near the bottom of the league?

The 2011 Giants were #29 (4th worst) in the league. While New York allowed 11 more yards passing than their season average of 255 ypg, they managed to hold Brady and the #2 passing offense of the Patriots to 17 points.

Blake still sucks, but anything can happen.
