Yeah say what you will about Tomlin but I've never heard any player on his roster say anything negative about him. Chip Kelly lost his locker room a long time ago.
What did Troy say?

Tomlin had to turn over the ENTIRE defense. Personnel wise, we're solid and young with our front 7. Our secondary is atrocious. Ben is still in the meat of his prime and the rest of the team is quite young.
Tomlin ain't going nowhere, and this is just the beginning. He won't leave without at least 2 more rings.

Black Monday is coming up for NFL head coaches, but the Eagles didn't want to wait.

Today, Jeffrey Lurie, Chairman and CEO of the Philadelphia Eagles, released Head Coach Chip Kelly.
“We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward,” said Lurie.
Coach Pat Shurmur will be interim head coach for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Ed Marynowitz, vice president of player personnel, was also released. Tom Donahoe, former GM of the Buffalo Bills and director of football operations for the Pittsburgh Steelers and senior football advisor for the Eagles since 2012, will assume the role of senior director of player personnel.
A press conference will be held Wednesday, December 30 at the NovaCare Complex at Noon with Lurie.
I'll just tell you that you are full of **** and go find it yourself. You tell me, what did Troy say?
I know Jackson, McCoy, and Boykin had plenty to say when they left. Hell, Murray said it while still on the roster.

Sweet.. looks like this has turned into another Tomlin thread.
Sexy Rexy....... **** spike, i thought you knew a little about football,............guess you must just read about it........... Cohwer is NOT going to come out of retirement
Was it last year, when many people were talking about how fresh and innovative Kelly was and how they would take him over Tomlin any day. My how quick they fall.

This board has fools aplenty.......there's a couple here that wanted Greg Schiano as coach. There are a couple that mentioned Marvin Lewis .....years ago Mike Smith. The old server held all that bullshit, but it amazed me how silly some folks are when evaluating coaches.

Secondly, I think there's something fishy in the timing of the dump. By letting him go a week early, Lurie may have just allowed him to take a college coaching position. If he's signed within 2 weeks, that was the case (and he was probably leaving the Eagles anyway).
Mike Tomlin isn't Chip Kelly. Not even close. Mike is a good guy and a good leader per say. I would say a real close comparison would be Marvin Lewis though Lewis had far more chops when he entered. Now Mike started off hot when it was someone else's players and Coordinator/ coaches. He has significantly cooled since and appears like Marvin to lose very strange, but yet important games.

Lurie wasn't afraid to pull the trigger. But Rooney will hold on to tomlineptitude forever.
Marvis Lewis is a great comparison. There is a guy that can put together a team that can win a division, but has done nothing in the playoffs.
