Now THAT was good coaching. Tomlin and Co. earned their money tonight

This is bullshit. Tomlin can't coach without Cowher's QB. Duh-Duh-Der-Der-Derp....

Interesting because

Bill Belichick with BradyL 145-44; without: 78-67
Mike Shanahan with Elway: 47-17; without 123-121
John Fox with Manning: 38-10; without 35;-61
Chuck Noll with Bradshaw: 107-51; without: 86-97

Ken Wisenhunt and Jim Caldwell did much better with Kurt Warner and Peyton Manning than without... looks like a lot of coaches do better with great QBs.

But it's Cowher's QB, so no credit at all to Tomlin can exist.

But wait he has been with Tomlin way longer and most of his development as a QB has come under Tomlin. But Cowher drafted him(well really Rooney) so he's a Cowher player and that's it.

Every Great Coach is linked to a Great QB. You can't have one without the other.

The "Cowher's QB" myth can be easily dispelled by comparing Ben's production under Cowher to his stats under Tomlin. Ben is a FAR better QB under Tomlin, with Tomlin's receivers, than he ever was under Cowher.

Mike Ditka coached the greatest team of all time, and he did NOT have a great QB.

How ignorant. Cowher had Ben for his first 3 years. Most good QBs get better after their ******* rookie and 2nd years. He won a SB with Cowher's WRs. Hell Tomlin won a SB with Cowher WRs. How many SB since? Don't give me bullshit stats. Tell me how many SBs has Ben won with Tomlin WRs...

I'm pretty sure Cowher rubs that fact in Tomlin's face each time they meet...

Imagine if Cowher never left......if Tomlin made it to 2 more SB's winning one I'm sure Cowher would of went to at least both of those and won them both, Hell. He might of went to a couple of others by now also. We could have like 9 SB victories by now. ....Wow. What could of been. Oh well. I guess I will keep dreaming with you on those thoughts. It is obvious that you can not let the past go.

I didn't bring it up smartass. Maybe your ignorance should be directed elsewhere. All I know is that since most of Cowher's players left Tomlin hasn't won a single playoff game. His best QB, TE, and ROLB are still from Cowher. But keep up the hyperbole since that's all you have.

Cowher would have won 9 SBs, if only he could make it past the AFCC game...

You can hang your hat on QB and TE, but Cowher's ROLB was Porter.

At least he could get to them. How many has Tomlin had the past 4 years. How did he do against a Tim Tebow lead Denver team in a non-AFCC game?

The past is the past...move from your Cowher players rants. It has grown very old. It is the only time you pop in anymore ....to throw one of your Cowher comparisons.

The "Cowhers players" myth will never be dispelled because some people have a hard time giving Tomlin credit/ If only we had taken Grimm or Whiz they would be happy, At least they would be bitching about 4-12 seasons, I guess.

I didn't bring it up. Also I'll bring up whatever the hell I want to. I understand you want to move from it now because I showed how stupid the anti-Cowher **** is. It was ok to bring it up when the Tomlin lovers were doing it. Strange how that happens. Why not tell them to leave it in the past? Oh I know why. Because it doesn't fit your agenda. And I've "popped" in many times but I'll pop in any time I want. Who the hell made you the Steeler nation god who decides what people post about? If the mods want to delete any talk about the past then fine. Make it apply to everyone. Until then if you don't like what I say then block me or skip past my posts. Not really that hard.

Where was he exactly when the 1978 Steelers were playing?

Was it behind a rock or under a carpet -- just wondering because I only remember his team being a one year wonder vs. one of the worst Super Bowl opponents ever while the 78 Steelers had to play against the defending Super Bowl Champions in Dallas (who had 5 Super Bowl appearances) then repeated as champ.... not fade into obscurity...

No Tomlin / Cowher agenda here big boy. I pointed out that you only pop in anymore to jump on people when they make a reference to Cowher.

You do realize that Cowher has been retired a very long time though....something like 9 years. Just saying. That is a long time to hold onto him. At some point it might just be best to let him go. I think he would want you to do that.

Mike Ditka coached the greatest team of all time, and he did NOT have a great QB.

Ditka's great record in Chicago was tied to Jim McMahan (and of course their incredible defense). Always viewed as a very good QB and a pro bowler during their SB year. When Jim Harbaugh became the starter, the team was not as good. In NO, Ditka was terrible.

You do realize I DIDN'T BRING IT UP? I've said that several times now and you still don't get it. So go ***** to those that love Tomlin and tell them not to bring it up. But you won't do that because of your agenda. Also again, I'll say what every the hell I want to. If you don't like it then block me or stop reading my post. Not that hard sweetheart.

Well sunshine as I said earlier the only time you post anymore is to discredit Tomlin. As far as blocking goes it works both ways. Block me if you don't like what I say but everything I have stated is factual. The reason you probably have your panty's all up in a bunch.

According to Tomlin nothing really changed schematically. According to Tunch, they played a lot more press on the WRs and changed to a lot more man on the outsides.

Mitchell said the same thing.

I have to admit being one of those who think Tomlin does an excellent job and kind of wonder about the half dozen or so who are constantly over the top critical. But where some of you have really hurt me is when you discredited my old legend Lombardi. Since he inherited 5 future Hall of Famers including a franchise QB I guess like Tomlin we need to discount his coaching. Glad he's not here to see his fall from grace.

Talk about over the top. Just more strawmen and out right untruths. Lombardi took over a team that was 1-10-1 and Starr had won ZERO games the pervious year. But that 's what Tomlin lovers do. They know people probably don't know the truth so they subvert the truth. You either don't know your hero to well or you are being disingenuous on purpose. Either way you are wrong. Starr had won 3 games in 3 years before Lombardi. Before Lombardi the Packers hadn't had a winning season in 12 years. None of those guys were doing **** under McLean.

BTW if you guys had your way Lombardi would have never been hired. McLean was only a one year coach so shouldn't the Packers have at least given him a few years? You know 3 coaches in 40 years method?

I'll admit when I wrote that it was tongue in cheek. But it sounded so much like you I decided to go ahead and post it.

Nice backtrack. You won't find me making ignorant comparisons like that... so it sounded nothing like me.
