Cameron Heyward fined for bringing awareness to his father's cancer

I don't have a problem with the fine because the rules are pretty clear, but will also be clear that I don't like Pinktober. If it didn't allow the NFL to make a profit, they would not be wearing pink all month.

DeAngelo Williams paying for 53 random women to have mammograms. Since the NFL wont let him wear a pink undershirt all season to honor his late mother.

I'm sure he would have done it anyway, but Williams paying for the mammograms is a more beneficial gesture than wearing a pink t-shirt.

NFL is petty. I see no big deal in allowing them to wear pink for breast cancer awareness...........

Tweak the rules if need be.

The problem is then some other guy will wear another color, then another guy will want to write a message on his eye black, another on his shoes and it keeps expanding until every player looks like a billboard of charity and messages. Advertise your charity after the clock hits 0:00.

Now the uniform rules are pretty silly. The NFL has 'strict' uniform guidelines, however in October, everyone can wear ******* pink??? That's a double standard. And limiting it to just October is another double standard. I'd like to see him wear pink in November, the league goes to fine him, then the NFLPA would have to say Wait a ******* minute here Rog. Our players are not fined for wearing pink in October, so they shouldn't be fined to wear it year round.

At the very least, it would be a PR nightmare, and another black eye (pun intended) to the league in their promotion of women issues. Can you imagine the public fallout for the NFL going to court over wearing pink for Williams wanting to honor his mother WHO ACTUALLY ******* DIED OF BREAST CANCER? Now THAT'S how you spread awareness.

I've said for some time that the No Fun League rules are for the birds.

Banning things like face paint, unique facemasks, high tops, and colored visors accomplishes nothing.

People with power love to abuse it, and that's all this is. When they started cracking down on endzone celebrations it was the beginning of the end of fun in the NFL.

Did anyone notice William Gay's purple shoes in the SD game? When I saw that I wondered how he got away with that.

KDKA News just reporting that Tuitt was fined for his shirt being untucked. The horror.

So, what about the players that put "John 3:16" on their eye black? Not knocking them .. but if you're gonna make Heyward stop wearing "Iron Head" because having writing on your eye black violates the uniform policy, then those guys have to stop to. If not, Heyward should sue.

Still haven't heard a word about the hit on Ben which was an illegal hit. Red friggen letter. This has always been Rogers problem from jump street and I said it as soon as the Ben thing came out. When you try to be the new sheriff in town and clean up dodge, you make up a whole bunch of ******, black and white rules and zero tolerance policy. The world rarely works in black and white, but operates in the grey a lot. Then dip **** paints himself in the corner and the league looks ridiculous. Very simple solution. Here is the uniform policy. If you want to go outside the policy fill out an application. We will review or accept or deny based upon a criteria of stupid self promotion or legitimate statement that conforms to league goals of citizenship.

Or another option is that he gets to donate his 5 k to cancer research which he would get back a good chunk of. Then he should be proud to pay for his statement.

Yep....I think there was an article someone posted last season that the NFL gets 90% of all pink profits..........All about money.

I really like watching Cam and I'm thinking he's a good jersey buying bet.

Is it against the board rules to call Roger Goodell a ****?

You have passed your first test grasshoppah.

They think it appeases us after permitting us to get our ***** laid out in elevators the rest of the year

Shouldn't you be fetching someone a sammich?

Which I'm sure they rationalize as being okay by saying "Hey, lookit how much "awareness" we're raising. Symbolism over substance......the NFL should be donating, at minimum, all but the costs.

Yeah, me too. But it won't be an NFL authorized one.
