Finally on a good team, and no longer burdened by high expectations, could Darius Heyward-Bey be blossoming into another weapon for the Steelers? His confidence really seems to be growing with each catch. If so, what an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver. How on earth can you cover speed like Bey, and Bryant, and still keep an eye on a monster like Brown, while having another solid option in Wheaton. This doesn't even take into consideration having to worry about Bell. The potential combinations are mindboggling.

He played a damn good game today. The weapons are steadily making it back to the field. If the defense can just be serviceable this team is dangerous. Oh, and get a ******* kicker already.

Review what Aaron Rodgers has been working with the past 6 to 7 years... 4 and 5 WR deep in talent! The best thing is the Oline not giving up a sack today.... DHB is making the most of this opportunity. Nice to see a Mewelde Moore FA type pickup at WR.

I thought he had a decent game against NE. Just one costly mistake. Which he more than made up for today. That's one thing with this offense this season is that Ben has so many options it's scary. Gotta still add in the fact that they still have no Bell and Bryant. The defense found some type of identity today. But can they remain consistent or better yet build upon today's performance. I liked the showing from the front seven. Even Jarvis was getting some pressure

I have to admit, I shook my head at the signing and never thought he would be anywhere near as productive as he's been this season. I still have to remember who's #88 every time he makes a catch.

I wasn't too keen with the signing either. He had flashes last season however. So I remained hopeful. And he's a fast runner too which is what I like. The offense is just flying around everywhere now. It's fun to watch. Ben had a lot of time to throw today as well. Oline deserves a B+ in my book

Al Davis smiles....

I'd be perfectly okay with them letting Kumar walk when his contract is up or if he fails another drug test.

DHB had a very good camp and as they pointed out on the postgame radio show, spent extra time with Ben to work on timing, almost like he knew a certain receiver would miss a quarter of the season.

lol yeah

He has been humbled and fully understands what it takes to be a successful football player. He is selfless and put his ego behind him last year and played special teams and shown his value there as well. He can turn into Cotchery with speed.

Considering that DHB is doing what he's doing with the Steelers, I don't think Al is smiling ... lol

Yeah, I hear 'ya, Buckeye, but Davis' "smile" looks like this:

Bingo! A lot of high draft picks can't lower themselves to accept being a minor part of a team. This guy has done that, and works hard. I'd love to see him become a valuable part of the team, that can serve as a big play threat. Sometimes guys get ruined by playing for bad organizations. The Bus, and Farrior were extreme examples of talented guys rescued from bad situations who blossomed here. Maybe Bey can be a lesser example of this. I'd like to see the team explore this source of talent regularly. Physically talented players who have struggled with horrible organizations. Do your homework of course.

meh, DHB still has questionable hands and isn't exactly a guy who fights for completions. he is a nice 4th until Coates is ready...

The steelers knack of getting productive Wrs mid to late is uncanny. there are 4 steeler draft picks with 100 or more yards reciving this season... Brown, a sixth rounder who leads the league... Sanders, Wallace, and Wheaton, all taken in the third round... DHB playing 4th rounder Bryant's role has over 100 yards as well... and Bryant is the better player

You have to keep in mind with Bryant's addiction issues the likelihood that he'll avoid a year long suspension for long is slight. DHB, is probably going to see plenty of game time.

The coaches knowledge of Bryant's problems may have played a role in the decision to keep Bey, as opposed to putting a rookie in his spot. Of course, it could be that Bey has been lighting it up in practice, causing the coaches to have more confidence in him than we did, seeing as how we don't get to see what goes on behind the scenes.

He's earned the No. 4 WR spot behind AB, Wheaton and Bryant. Coates will have to wait until next year to dress barring something unforeseen.

It's nice when you don't have to rush young guys out there.

Nice of you to admit that! Sure are a lot who won't. Maybe Mann the WR coach deserves some credit also.
