Mike Tomlin: We listened to the Patriots Radio Broadcast for the Whole First Half

If the defensive player jumps into the neutral zone and two other players shift simultaneously that definitely draws the offensive line into engaging. That should have been defensive encroachment. But That's not how the game was scripted, was it?

The NFL didn't WANT to catch the P*ts with radio fuckups. So they let them know when they were coming over so they could clear the signals.

This is a huge steaming pile of horse-****.

They are allowed to shift but not during the QB cadence as in trying to simulate the snap.

I don't think it's that complicated. The Pats** can just look and see the NFL guys coming over and their guy in the booth can turn the headsets back on.

QB cadence has nothing to do with anything --- that's not a rule. There is a broadly written rule that the defense can't do things that simulate the snap. That is usually interpreted as: defense can't yell "hut" "hike" etc.

There is really nothing to see here. This sort of gamesmanship happens every week.

Agreed. I have no idea why some coach hasn't gone nuclear on this issue before. How can you prepare for weeks for opening day, and then just let this **** slide? I'd have pulled my team off the field, and walked, career or fines on the line or not.
Yep. Career and all. Sure you would of. The way I look at it is the Rooney's knew about it and everything else but didn't do **** about it. If someone needs a pair of balls its them. They should of told Tomlin to pull the team off the field. The Rooney's handed the broom to Goodell years ago and now are holding the dust pan.

But it’s not quite so clear-cut. NFL rule 12.3.1(j) prohibits

“Using acts or words by the defensive team that are designed to disconcert an offensive team at the snap.”

Acts and at the snap are exactly what they did. It could have been called. I have seen it called before on FG's.

Your right it's not a rule just more Patriots pushing the envelope. Here's Ben's take

“I thought that there was a rule against that,” Roethlisberger told reporters. “Maybe there’s not. Maybe it’s just an unwritten rule. … We saw it on film, that the Patriots do that. They shift and slide and do stuff on the goal line, knowing that it’s an itchy trigger finger-type down there.

“In my years of playing, a defensive guy can’t bark stuff or move in the middle of a cadence. I agree that the ref said, ‘Well, he didn’t go in the neutral zone.’ … I was arguing the fact that he shifted in the middle of a cadence.”

It's not clear cut --- that's why I called the rule "broadly written". It's been called before, yes, but it's almost always because the refs think the defense is saying "hut" which causes the O-line to false start. Other than that case or if the defensive lineman crosses into the neutral zone, the result is nearly always a false start on the offense.

Again, this is no big deal. Happens every Sunday. I don't even think the refs got this one wrong --- they did miss Jarvis being held by the Pats LT, called a ticky-tack hold on Gilbert and I thought the pass interference on Cortez Allen sucked too. Not to mention that Beachum got called for hands to the face when the truth is that the defender's helmet wasn't properly secured.

Adam Schefter - the Steelers will now NOT file a formal complaint with the league.

You can't fix stupid. The Rooneys roll over again, bend over the barrel, and let Bob Kraft and Goodell **** 'em.

The fact that the Steelers organization isn't going to do anything about this is sad. I'm quickly losing interest in the NFL.

You can damn well bet this wasn't a Tomlin call. That dude was PISSED! Smacks of ownership getting involved and nixing the formal complaint. And it's horseshit!

Maybe Tomlin will get mad enough to quit?

This alone made me breath a sigh of relief that I kicked the Sunday Tix to the curb. So happy I don't pay these cheating cocksuckers anymore.

It is unbelievable that they continually get away with this ****.

Rooney was told to sit down and shut the **** up.

Tomlin should be learning how to draft instead of whining about headsets. The stiffs on the DL you drafted did absolutely nothing, the secondary is complete trash and your big trade DB didn't even make the field.... and you still don't have a clue how to call a timeout.

******* whiny losers

Agreed. The players still have to play the game. All coaching and headset issue aside. It comes down to their talent vs our talent on the field. And quite frankly our talent has been incosistent the past three years

and you believe him .?????? I would LOVE to see the next team that goes in there finds something else wrong .. and reports it

#Steelers won't file complaint with the #NFL over headset problems. The league is already investigating

This alone made me breath a sigh of relief that I kicked the Sunday Tix to the curb...

Don't know about your timing on that...

They're giving it away free this year to just about everybody, me included. I barely had to ask.

DirectTV also lowered my monthly subscription fee by $35 for a year. No contract, no catch.

Strange but true.

I don't buy it Frenchy.

They know people are bailing on the NFL so they're trying to win back fan loyalty.

Just saw it on the local; news .. but think about it guys .. what would a formal complaint get them? a letter of apology ? The media storm they created was much better -- as I said it would be great if everyone that visits FOXboro and has a problem does not keep quiet

They offered the discount as I was cancelling. I declined. So my ************* timing is perfection.

I believe the NFL has already cleared the Pats**** of any wrong doing.

What is completely believable is that in the home stadium of the one team documented as habitual cheaters, a long standing electrical issue has managed to interfere only with visiting team's signals in key moments over and over again... cause they wouldn't be intentionally doing that....

I want the explanation on how an FM signal can get picked up on a band specific frequency system. It's fishy as hell to me.
