Just a FYI

read somewhere that all the IR players count against the cap? if true the team is probably balls against the wall once again regarding the cap

yeah so many moves it is hard to know where they stand at the moment against the cap....

Kam Chancellor come on down!

Not sure the Hawks will put him on the market.

But if they did, being S is the teams biggest weakness, you would hope Tombert would pursue................

The team has no pass rush which is a bigger concern. Sure Chancellor would be a nice addition but how much of an impact could he make with this defense that has no pass rush coming from its front seven? Yes, plus Seattle won't trade him for nothing. They would want premium picks plus you still have to sign him to a monster contract for a safety. I just don't see it happening.

you have 4 bodies at OLBer with a rookie that should see playing time sometime this year.

Like it or not they won't replace Jarvis this year.

.....you have enough experience at the position to make do, perhaps not where most people want it to be...

but they are already a roster stock of LBers

with Allen being the starter and Sham being close to bust status, a guy like Cam can do a lot for the D

he is technically sound and a obvious upgrade over Allen

played and performed well on one of the better defenses

Take a liability and turn it into a strength if you will....

will it happen? probably not

but the guy has confidence, is consistent

I would say his impact would be significant.

Exactly Sask! This guy will want a big time contract so where will this cap space come from?

Yes, he is most definately an upgrade at safety but again, without a pass rush he's not going to be as dynamic as he was with Seattle who has a pass rush.

Last I heard (from overthecap.com) we were 10 mil under ther cap, this new restructure frees up another 3+ mil. So we're probably around 13-14 mil under. Right around top safety money. I'm telling you guys it's gonna happen. Also with all the depth at inside linebacker I doubt they'll resign Timmons after this year (was second highest paid player on team after Ben). So technically we do have the money..

One of Tomlin's favorites?

barring injury he will be resigned

This doesn't look like a pay cut...

Who said it was a pay cut?

He's deferring salary to next year to open up more cap space for the team this year,

Timmons now counts for more than 15M next year and has approximately 6.3M in dead money. Good job good effort front office.

And he'll sign a nice contract extension next year, relieving the cap yet again and making half the board moan because our best defensive player is STILL on the team.

I don't think he's horrible or anything, but he's been the top paid ILB vs the cap in the last two seasons and that seems kind of absurd.

Goddamn it, Cope.

We are not here to make sense nor use facts. Do you want a vacation?!

Just so you know. Dead money only occurs when you pay for players that are not on your team.

"Dead money" = money that will be charged vs the 2016 cap regardless of whether he plays for us or not.
