We are supposedly getting an update from Mike Tomlin tonight on Pouncey (and clearly Vick too). But Ramon Foster believes Pouncey is going to be put on the IR - DFR list and will have a chance to play this season. I'm betting the target will be the Seahawks game which is after the bye on Nov 29. So Pouncey would miss the first 10 games.

I would think a clean break without complications would be a 6 to 8 weeks out, provided that's the case...

Wolf and Tunch were saying that for a vet like Wallace this will not be an issue. We won't miss a beat. That for vets it is a pretty simple read.
I think the run game will suffer the most. as Pouncey would be down the field blocking. So however how many yards that created will be lost.
I do think the O is talented enough to overcome the loss. Perhaps Bell gets less rushing yards, but more pass catches / yards.

Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey's fractured left fibula/ankle is expected to sideline him until Week 12.
He'll miss the first eight games on I.R./return, then is expected to miss two more weeks rehabbing and conditioning. The Steelers' bye falls in Week 11, and the early expectation is Pouncey will be available in Week 12. Pittsburgh remains strong at guard and tackle, but will ask a lot of Cody Wallace to replace Pouncey at the pivot

Why wasn't Pouncey put on the IR eligible to return list? I heard they used that spot on Adams, or did I mis-hear

Ahhhhh that's what I get for listening to "The Fan" updates, I heard tham say IR eligible for return... I checked steelers.com and its PUP... huge difference
Adams was placed on the PUP yesterday. Currently Pouncey is not on the IR. I expect him to be placed on the IR designated to return after the game on Thursday, only if one of our big 3 players don't get hurt in that game. Because Bell, Brown, and Ben are the only 3 players that would be placed on the IR Return list over Pouncey, and you can only put one person on that list.
You cannot place a player on the IR-designated return list until after final cuts (next week). So, we will need to include Pouncey on our 53 man roster and then put him on the IR-designated to return list. Then, we can go back an add someone else to the roster.
Yes, Literally I heard the fan's show say he was on IR designated to return midseason, and it just puzzled the hell out of me. First off that they could do that already,and secondly that it was adams, not Pouncey... just misspoke, I guess
Triple I Mike is right. I assume this is so the salary will be guaranteed for the season and will also count against the cap.
