Actually, my point was that some of you seem to be taking the position that "they're just people". As in the lives of dogs are more valuable than those of people. Personally, as a dog owner (1 of which is a beautiful, gentle and loving Pit), I value the lives of my dogs as much as I value the lives of any loved one.
It would be hard for me to forgive anyone that killed/injured "MY" dogs or "MY" loved ones. However, let me be honest here, I can't raise the necessary level of ire to continue to punish a man after he has served his sentence and none of "MY" dogs or "MY" loved ones were harmed.
I wouldn't be calling Mike Vick to dog watch based upon his history. I wouldn't even trust him watching my kids. However, what he did, and what he was punished for have absolutely no bearing on whether or not he has the skills to be a backup QB on the Steelers. In fact, I think many of you that are upset about the pick are equally as upset about what this says about the mythological, never existed "Steeler Way".
