Video Of Bell Just Abusing Timmonsa on Pass Routes

Timmons is very good at pass coverage. Bell could be all pro as a WR he is that good.

Timmons seemed a little slower last year, I thought, than he had been in the past.

Dudes is nasty. I got 2nd pick in fantasy. I'm taking him if he is there.

Poor Timmons he looks like the Coyote in pursuit of the Roadrunner. Kinda makes that entire jam them at the line look like it will be a bad idea when compared to the 10 yard cushion. Now Brown has some skill at routes and will likely make guys look bad as well.

Most teams have no answer for a RB who can run WR routes, especially the Ravens who have big LBs. Bell missing the playoff game changed everything.

Marshal Faulk was the key to the Rams explosive passing game. LBs had no shot at covering him and as soon as a CB or S gets involved in covering a RB, it should be easy pickings if you have a good QB and WRs.

Exactly....and that is exactly why I loved the pick of Coates. Keep loading up the weapons for Ben...an average defense won't mean a thing if you are hanging a 30 spot on teams game after game.

AWESOME, taking nothin away from Lawrence, but BELL is just this good. Thanks for BOTH of them being on our STEELERS team.

Salute the nation

Bell showed great agility and hands in college and as rookie before he put off the weight, but he was a step slow, which is why I didn't like the draft pick initially.

Now that he's added some speed to his skill set by dropping those 15-20 lbs, he's a completely different player.

He's not the home run threat that Marshall Faulk was, but he's a stronger, more physical player, with similar feet, vision and receiving skills.

Bell's combination of power and finesse is extremely rare, as I cannot think of another power back in the modern era who could both make cuts and basically function as an extra WR in the passing game like Bell can. He is also a great pass blocker.

He's a very special talent.

He has a a chance to be the best pass catching back in the history of the game.

Let us wrap our head around that for a moment........................................................................................

You aren't winning a SB with an average (16th ranked) defense. I don't think the Steelers have won a single SB with less than a 5th ranked defense. When the Steelers offense ran into a good defense last year they got stoned. The Jets shut them down even with Bell. The clowns shut them down with Bell. The offense isn't going to be great every week. You need a defense. Even in the playoff game the defense gave up 30 points. You aren't winning many playoff games giving up 30 points.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...-bad-defenses-who-could-make-a-super-bowl-run

so basically in this new passing league, new rules to keep the QB standing and producing

a opportunistic D can be enough

the Steelers drafted with improving the lack of turnovers on D in mind

Boykin and Gay have both shown INT capable.

With Butler implementing a simpler DE attack scheme, it isn't out of the realm of imagination for this team to go all the way and win it.

I think the CBs are upgraded from last year. (yes one addition can do it)
I think it is possible that Tuitt and Heyward will make a bigger impact this year.
Then you hope like with every contender the team to be healthy at the right time.

I am not saying this years team will accomplish what they are capable

and at the same time I am not saying they can't.

**** that 10 yard cushion bullshit. I'll take the chance with aggressive d every day of the week, especially with the weapons we have on the other side of the ball now.

Depending on who was throwing Bell would have been moving the chains in big chunks with that coverage. After that they would have scored in likely 5 or 6 plays. Taking chances does not make you anything but a risk taker. I would rather the team play to it's strengths and do what is likely to produce the best results what ever it is.

I was talking specifically about the Steelers which is why I said "I don't think the Steelers have won a single SB with less than a 5th ranked defense".

and I highlighted your first sentence and showed examples of other teams that have

Also the Steelers were :

the first team to 6 SB wins
weren't they the first team to win it all being the last playoff seed?
Big Ben was the first QB to pass for back to back 6 TD games

where I am going with this is I feel like other teams, the Steelers aren't some red headed step child that couldn't follow suit, within winning it all with just a average D.

They just need to be solid against the run and make opportunistic turnovers.

I think, with our O clicking like last year, the D can still be average or just above. The D doesn't have to be outstanding. Even if the D is average, it has to generate turnovers, though.

I think Bell is going to have a monster season. Too bad he won't be available til game 3 though.

That pretty much shows Timmons in pass coverage - trying to stay with a receiver, never looking for the ball, getting beat and hoping the pass rush and a safety rescue him.

There is not a LB in the NFL that could stay with Bell in the same situations.

Does this training camp video in any way hurt Timmons HOF chances?

By comparison, a camp favorite from last year (Justin Brown) couldn't create any separation from Timmons.
