Jerome says the Brown punt return. As for me the loss to the Chargers is still my most painful lost. Cried like a baby. Neil was such a ***** on that play. No pressure. Just threw it off his back foot Smh. Thoughts??

Rosie's interceptions in XXX. Pick either one. No pun intended.

Joey Porter's dropped interception that would have won the afc championship game.

The play that injured Franco in divisional round in 1976. I believe we would have 3-peated if he had been available against the raiders in the AFCCG.

Drafting Neil O'Donnell

Mendenhall fumble. The Steelers had all the momentum and if he does not put the ball on the ground there the Steelers have 7 Lombardi's.

The Chargers loss was most heartbreaking cause there is NO DAMN WAY they should have lost that game same with the Pats loss. But those were conference championship games so it is a tie between the Mendenhall fumble and O'Donnell pick. Both were essentially the same deal. Team behind whole game, rallies late only to be done in by a bad turnover.

I blame David "whiff" Johnson on this play. He deserves at least half credit. He runs RIGHT BY the packer defender and never even tries to bock him.

This. You could feel a complete change in the momentum and if they scored on that drive, it was their game.

4th down pass in the chargers game afc championship. like others already have said. That one hurts to this day. the game should never have been close

The punt return? That was nothing new. The real BS that game was the blocked FG and the illegal forward lateral on the return that gave the Cheats a 21-3 lead. When you lose 24-17, those were the winning points. Besides, Cowher shouldn't have even been going for the 49 yard FG anyway because Kris Brown was a disaster that year from 40+ out. So if you're talking just that championship game, that's the play you want back.

In all of history? There's two I would want back. Neil's pick in the 4th in SB 30 and Mendenhall's fumble in 45. Change those and you've got 8 Lombardis.

Chargers AFCCG, Spinandfall's fumble a close second. As I recall, Spinandfall didn't really have a track record of fumbling much.

david jhonson missing his blocks so badly that mendy went 1-3 and fumbled getting gang tackled.

How about the long pass that Tim McKyer gave up that gave the Chargers the lead to begin with.

Woodson claimed he was the one who blew the coverage not Timmy.

If you take back the punt return TD by the Pats, then the steelers likely win that game and it's possible the Pats semi dynasty never happens. Brady was basically a game manager that year. If they lose that game, maybe they go back to Bledsoe the next year.

As much as the Chargers game hurt, we probably weren't going to beat the 9ers. Other than the 2 most mentioned, the pick 6 vs the Pack, the long pass completion by the Pack on 3rd down late in the game (perfect pass, Ike missed knocking it away by inches), and one that no one has mentioned, no one rushing Larry Seiple in 1972 vs Miami, and he deciding to take off, and and run deep into Steeler territory. We might have gotten the first one in 72 if not for that play.

If ifs and buts were **** and nuts...

Barry Sanders faking Woodson out of his ACL. That's the play I want back...

O'Donnell's 2nd interception in SB XXX. The Cowboys' defense was toast. The Steelers offense had pushed them around the 2nd half like a shopping cart. If the Steelers get one first down, the Cowgirls are done. Their defenders looked like they wanted to be anywhere but on the field against that offensive line.

Just because the Chargers were crushed didn't mean we would be too. I think we matched up well with that 49ers team. Besides we just should of never lost that game.

All of those are painful.

For some reason, and I am not just trying to be different, one that sticks with me is the '97 AFCC against Denver. The Steelers were winning 14-10. They had the ball and were driving, Bettis was chewing them up. He just ripped off 8 yards on first down. The offensive staff decides at that point it would be a good idea to have Kordell throw the ball. He throws one up in the end zone and it gets picked. Before you know it it is 24-14, Broncos.

Another from that game is at the end, the Steelers got it to 24-21. Had to stop the Broncos from getting a 1st. 3rd and whatever, and Elway completes a pass for a first to Sharpe. Over Gildon, who if he just lifts his damn head, at the very least knocks the ball down. Who knows after that?

I think the Steelers beat the Packers in that SB. I know they made the SB, but the Packers that year seemed like a soft team. The way the Steelers ran the ball and were physical...

Gotta agree with this one. People who are not our age just do not seem to understand the hate for the Raiders. I still hate them even though they consistently suck. If I was in the cemetery where they planted Al Davis, I'd piss on his grave.
