Vandalizing a WWII monument is disrespectful to any veterans who made the country what is is today. Trumps comments about current soldiers and their family concerns are also disrespectful and we are talking about real people in the middle of the crap not some stone. They have already been on record deployment and for Trump to say its not long enough is wild and I have no clue how any one can defend that. Even if the reports are being blown out of proportion all Trump had to say was something like "We appreciate the service and dedication of the sailors. We are looking into the reported issues and sending supplies / repairs as needed. We also have another ship on the way. " I am not blaming Trump for the issues, but his comments about the situation are pathetic.

Is there a real concern aboard the Abraham Lincoln, I have no idea and no one on this forum does either. My swift boat in 'Nam usually had a crew total of 6 and the one in charge of watching the radar was always threatening to jump over. As far as I know, and please correct me, there have been a handful of sailors breaking down, or about .001% of the total crew. This isn't unique, so I have to ask why it's receiving such widespread coverage? Rhetorical question as we all know the answer to this.

Let's say there are 0 issues in the Lincoln. The guys are still on a record deployment and you are fine with trump saying they have not been there "nearly long enough."
Our military is voluntary, no one is forced to join. It's wasn't a choice in my time, but I did volunteer and nearly every day on patrol I thought it would be my last day on earth.
Like it or not, Trump is the commander in chief. The backbone of our country has grown weak with everyone from politicians to media influencers thinking that they know best when it comes to our military. I can assure you, they do not.
Anecdotal and the story may not be true, but I had an uncle that served on the North Carolina in the Pacific in WWII. He'd always say that his feet never touched solid ground for almost 2 years. And this was without the internet or email. Trump is abrupt, Patton was abrupt, McCarther was abrupt, McAuliffe was abrupt and sent a message of NUTS to Rommell, which by coincidence is also my reply to you.
