OK since I have been a tad ruthless in my posts I'll share a little about me since I'm new and you think I live in my parents basement. Lol I have been watching the Steelers for 50 years now (I'm 57). Never played organized football because it always interfered with my wrestling career but my pops played college ball and I had the genes and always wanted to play because my violent, aggressive and analytical nature really was suited for that sport. I LOVE football and spend entirely too much time on the God darn sport. I've dreamed of getting into coaching. Who knows maybe one day that window will.open up for me.ive read posts on here for decades and finally decided to start chiming in. Yes I can be a bit demeaning in my posts if I read something I think is stupid but I don't know everything and there is always someone smarter than me so I expect some blowback from time to.time. in the end regardless of what I say about any of you, we are all in this together and we all dream of a 7th and what a glorious day that will be. I was at the last one in Tampa and man I think the best part of that whole experience was afterwards......just mingling with Steeler faithful high on Lombardi outside the stadium......what a great thing.......can't wait for the next one. BTW im.just bored out of my mind right now so I've been posting a lot. Hope to make some friends and enemies here LMAO......frankly this board is at its best when we mirror the comradarie and competitiveness of what takes place on the field.

Welcome aboard, you'll fit right in.

We all have STEELERS in common but are in different stages of our journey.

One thing we all gotta grow up about is that they all play for whoever writes the cheque. And they all want as big a number as they can command.
Agreed.....crying about monies after signing on the dotted line the year before is a ***** move. And then again the following year. Maybe the NFL should just go to 1 year contracts.🤔

The only thing I can be truly guilty of is that my posts are long winded.......I'm not for everyone. People who are attracted to Shiney objects and can't focus or want cliff notes will hate me. Those who like getting into the weeds of things will appreciate my diatribes =)

I didn't like it either but if you signed a contract and played way above your contract and your agent was behind you asking for more, would you ask for more? I mean they can say no and you can either show up or not show up and not get paid. On the other hand you could get more. In the corporate world they rewrite contracts and comp all the time when employees outperform to keep.them.happy. In the corporate world and the NFL people get fired if they don't live up.to.their contract all the time. It rubbed me the wrong way too but that's only because im selfish for my team and want as much money as possible to.sign others but can you truly hold it against the man for asking?

Been preaching that for years, not the grow up part, but the money chasing part for sure.

Many here think it’s a travesty for TJ to not have won a playoff game.

The bigger travesty is the Steelers not winning a playoff game the entire time he has been here.

For TJ, he gets his money (which it has always been about to him) and us fans get no playoff wins.

How about when they under-perform or get injured and only play 5 Games for the season ?

Will the player “Give-Back” the appropriate amount of said contract ?

EDIT: Contracts aren’t like groceries store, you don’t get a certain amount of items for a designated price. That is why the re-negotiation of a contract happens less by the team. They are paying for a designated length of a contract with the risk of sub-play within that contract. Cam did something that was not normal practice and was using sub-par means of doing so. That is why the sour taste in that regards of him “asking” for more.

Meh.....Cam made his money throughout his career. More than enough. Crying year to year about money was a ***** move. Especially since the year before he had a horrible injury laided season. Will it affect his HOF chances? Nope. Sure does leave a bad taste in the mouth of some fans though.

Love when people bring the corporate world into play. The players signed their CBA.....That's on them.

Try paragraphing at some point going forward. Helps break it all up between breaths.

Critical thinking lol. Dude I watched Dalton play enough........the dude had a few decent years and the rest of his years have been slop. I can't believe you compare Dalton to Cam. Cam has been one of the best at his position during his career. Was he the best? No but he has been one of the best at his position. You bring up.total.passing yards as your basis for comparing him to Cam? Seriously? He has an all time QB ranking that puts him on par with Geno Smith and Jeff Garcia and frankly they had some decent years filled with a bunch of slop. So essentially you are saying Cam Heyward is the Geno Smith or Jeff Garcia of interior defensive lineman of his era when Smith, Garcia and Dalton all put together didn't sniff an all.pro when Cam.has had 6. Some of younare starting to.sound like Eagles fans with your assessment of NFL play

Meh

I'll tell you what Fiji did. He applied fantasy football metrics to his comparison. All he did was look at total yards and TDs over the course of his career and then equate that ranking to how good of a QB he was. Now do I really need to explain how flawed that thinking is? It's like when Winston would throw for 450 yards, throw 5 tds and 4 ints, lose the game in tragic fashion but was ranked as the number one qb in fantasy that week. Dalton had some very good games and some pretty decent years but his peak period was nothing special and it was short. The rest of his career was slop. He's probably not even top 100 of all time..Part of the issue with ranking him around 25 is there were so many QBs before the west coast offense changed things dramatically that have less tds and yards than Andy thatbwere for superior players. You gonna say Andy is better than Bradshaw or Unitas? That's essentially the lack.of thought Fiji put into.his comparison.

I get a "meh" because I think you know the comparion is "meh"

You get a meh because you still lack comprehension of what was the original point

It’s all good, I’ll put ya in the lowered expectations class and just breeze by your posts, please do the same

It was a comment done with a good dose of sarcasm
A little digging was done for the stat lovers

On the stats list, the two were closer than I would’ve thought

Posited that Dalton ain’t far behind Cam due to a QB favoritism and a Steeler bias

💩 this ain’t that hard to keep up with ffs

I’m a smart *** with a pocketful of sarcasm, maybe figure out the room before telling me what I’m thinking dfb

I think I'm more curious how Andy Dalton ranks 25-30 all-time. I don't put him in the top 30 of the 21st century.

Only on the stats list- that was still the shocking part…wouldn’t have guessed that.

He’s probably somewhere around that 60-70 range as far as on field play when ya weight the old 3 yards and a cloud of dust league

Just as Cam's sack numbers started inflating when he started pinning his ears back and he started looking for sacks first.....stopping the run 2nd.

Well the grow up part is we often have this children playing a game view and why wouldn't you want to take less to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I will say this. The players play into it in interviews their allegiance to the team. When in reality its their job like we all have jobs. And if your company would transfer you to another office for significantly more money.....who's not going.

16 of the 25 in front of him played all, or most of, their careers in the 21st century, many of them their careers parallel or significantly overlap Andy Dalton. Dalton isn't even top 10 on stats amongst his contemporaries (and he is likely to be passed by another three of his contemporaries before he retires).

Part of the reason Dalton is so high all time is he plays at a time when the game favours offence, and more games are played per season. The last 15 years average number of passing yards per game has increased by more than 30% from the 1970's, as well as number of regular season games increasing from 14 (prior to the NFL/AFL merger, NFL teams played 12 games per year) to 16 (and then 17). So not really that shocking a quarterback who has been in the NFL the last 15 years is top 25 on total stats.

Incidentally Andy Dalton ranks 14th for quarterback number of games started in the 21st century (he is also ranked top 30 all time for QB starts, although that was a Google AI ranking, so I'm not betting my life on it being correct)..

Dude........you compared Dalton to Cam. That they were similar. I debated you on it. Now after you double and tripled and quadrupled down, you really were just doing so.the entire time with a heavy dose of sarcasm!!!!!! Oh yeah the ole I was just joking when the hot girl in high school.said no to you after you asked to sniff her panties. Right.....sure thing

You did just say however that Andy was the 65th (60.to 70) best QB to ever play the game. So you are saying there are 64 interior defensive lineman that are better than Cam to have played the game. Go name 30 intelligently and I'll send you a thousand dollars

Who on here is saying anyone should play for less? I know some throw the term team friendly around at times....but for the most part the Steelers pay their star player the prevailing wage.
