Allar now has the same number of WRs going to jail as being drafted. Driving ATV while drunk
The top assistant wasn't willing to criticize the head coach while the head coach was still at Penn State. Said head coach is now at Virginia Tech, and the top assistant chose to stay in Happy Valley. So the top assistant is no longer loyal to his former head coach who is now somewhere else.Your top assistant is willing to criticize your playcalling if hired at Penn State.
Athleticism doesnt translate to Super bowls...Just to throw this out there Allars projected RAS score was projected to be 7-8+. Cole Payton's actual RAS was 9.87 to 9.98. That puts Payton at worst 16th since 1987 and best at 4th. People seem obsessed with Allars physicals while dismissing Payton is much better athletically. If we were really going to swing for the fences I would have picked the freak athlete.
Ras works at some positions... a casual comparison of super bowl winning qbs and RAS scores shows that means **** at that positionBecause high degree athletes are the ones who succeed at QB? I look at RAS more for say an Olineman in comparison. Athletic is nice but I want those strong arm pure pocket passers…
Pat Narduzzi doesn't have half the program of Penn State and gets criticized from doing this stuff all the time. The Penn State coaches shouldn't be immune to the same type of criticism. The top assistant wasn't willing to criticize the head coach while the head coach was still at Penn State. Not really that hard to follow, is it?
You are correct but what do you hear about Allar and why he was selected so high? He is big, strong arm, and athletic. That is about it. Payton is about the same size as Allar has a strong arm, and is faster/ more athletic. There is much more to playing QB than physical talents, but if people feel Allar can be fixed, then so can Payton who I would argue has more upsideAthleticism doesnt translate to Super bowls...

Starting experience and level of competition were likely factors as well. You are correct but what do you hear about Allar and why he was selected so high? He is big, strong arm, and athletic.
