Will Tom Brady play Week 1 against the Steelers? Very likely.

He will be suspended, and that is unquestioned. It's no longer about the deflated footballs, it's about the Patriots stating they will be cooperative with the Wells report, then weren't. He has 2-3 games minimum just for not showing his texts. The NFL does have the texts received on the other phones, but are unable to release the information for the Wells report or to the public. This is simply a grandstand by Brady to make him look like a martyr in this situation. He knows he's complicit, but he also knows that the text content can't be released without his consent. Therefore he can play the saint, muddy the waters, and keep this public integrity intact.

The NFL has to be hard on him because it sets a simple precedent. If you don't cooperate in an investigation fully, you WILL be suspended. Moving forward, athletes may be more helpful in getting all the info out, but if Goodell backs down now, it discredits the NFL's position to investigate conduct detrimental to the game.

Also Stony, they're a big ******* difference between 'More likely' and 'Very likely'...

Cope, well said on your previous two post(s). Many forget about the cooperation aspect of all this. Brady defied the "rog", open and shut. Least ways thats how it should be. Now you take this Glorified t*mmy b*y, who claimed most of his greatness off of a cheating system, then show him leiniency, how is that justice???? THIS cheating is a huge cause of nfl sucktitude.........

P*ts accepted their punishment. It will be difficult for much of a change in M*rsha's suspension given the Che*ters admission of guilt through acceptance, public opinion, and the need of the NFL to be consistent after all the bs surrounding recent suspensions. Ray Rice's handling will make it very difficult to walk down games suspended for the next couple years (ask Leveon Bell).

It will be neat to see the NFL kick off its league year without its poster boy QB, and both starting RBs on opening night. Maybe Adam Sandler can be one replacement, and Ray Rice could fill in for the sucky Blount.

I will not watch the opener if Brady plays....too many times the Steelers have taken fines and suspensions from this commish. If Brady plays, Bell damn well better be on the field. Our QB had to sit...theirs can too.

I suspect Bradys suspension will be reduced, but not eliminated. He will sit out one game.

Agree with this. Don't think he gets away with not sitting at least 1 game.

The balls were deflated, period. There is no need for "science" or "theory". Marsha also didn't cooperate with the league and its investigation. I see no way his suspension should be reduced at all. He is guilty and he didn't cooperate. Quit whining Cheatriot fans and deal with the fact that none of your SB's came when your team was not busted for cheating.

Maybe the rog will increase the mother ****** because of his media campaign and the attack on his impartial team which is trying to discredit the shield even more.

Was just reading that this aei report has been debunked by other scientific reports that back up the wells report. So Brady playing week one is still unlikely as Roger is no doubt aware of the other reports too.

If he does play in week one, I want to see his knees destroyed. Both of em. Utterly and completely turned into hamburger on snap 1. I want Joe Namath to fall down and THANK GOD that he got off easy. But, unfortunately, I don't actually control the universe.

That is the main point being missed. Most of the suspension is for lying and failure to cooperate. It doesn't even matter if the balls were deflated or not. Goodell can knock a game off if, but that's it.

If Goodell eliminates the penalty completely then no player will ever cooperate again because Goodell will have set the precedent that non cooperation is not a punishment by itself.

The only question is if Goodell will set this up so that Brady plays week 1 and then gets suspended. Does he say Brady can p lay while it's under appeal and then magically, the day after the game vs the Steelers, Goodell then makes his ruling.

With no cooperation and no exculpatory evidence and essentially just running a smear campaign against the league office and investigations he should get the rice effect and have his suspension increased. Krap who is getting a much stiffer penalty is accepting his when he likely had less to do with it than belicheat and marsha looks to be incriminating marsha by his actions.

That too, is the thing. H**die not getting a dang thing, punishment wise. Ignorance is no defense. FlUCK this injustice of a punishment.

I've argued from the very beginning of this whole thing the science is shaky at best. To pin your proof that the New England Patriots cheated based on those ****** and all-over-the-place gauge readings is stupid. The Wells report never should have gone there and instead acknowledged right off the bat that there just wasn't enough good scientific data done per the scientific method to conclude anything.

The evidence in this case revolves around the texts and interviews of the ball handlers. There still isn't a logical explanation for the ball boys testimony he pissed in a urinal when that bathroom had no urinal. There still isn't a logical explanation why texts talked about needles and someone called the "Deflater". The smoking gun literally is "the needle" and they needed to find it.

I have also long maintained it makes no sense for Tom Brady to know the details of the crime. If you want an underinflated ball, I doubt he ever told them "Put it at 12 psi". He likely just said "That one feels right, make the others the same" and like most rich, spoiled athletes he probably acted like a dick in telling the ball boys that. All the texts kind of back this up.

What the ball boys did/didn't do to make Tom Brady happy doesn't necessarily make Brady a cheater. Not in my opinion. For all he knew, the way he liked the balls "soft" was within the rules.

Now I do agree with Brady getting a suspension, but to me it has a lot more to do with not being cooperative during the league investigation and NOT whether he knew balls were being compromised during games per his directive or with his knowledge. I think it was the right of the investigation to know what those conversations were about for 1 hour the morning after the story brook. And what texts were sent. If Brady wasn't being honest then you have to lower the boom. In future league investigations, you can't have all the players just lawyer up.

I also strongly agree with the fines/penalties to the team. I would have given them more. This is under their watch. The ball boys represent their franchise and what they do comes back on you. If they tampered with balls after the referee inspection, that's wrong.

Del I generally like your posts cause they are well thought out.

This one sounds as credible as the Benghazi event being spontaneous because of a video, in fact it has less credibility than that. You have gone way out on a limb attached to a dead tree. The science was accurate enough to determine tampering simple. The texts show discussion about tampering and that it was likely going on for a long time. Aliens did not steal the air and then head off to outer space. Those other guys will not do that if the guy marsha did not want them to, he paid them.

brady* and the cheatriots are an empty sack they have nothing with out cheating. They are as guilty as the guys doping horses or corking bats they are cheaters and unworthy of consideration for any awards or mention in the same sentence as a legitimate team. It likely hurts to realize that the Cleveland Browns are worthy of more respect and are likely glad that Belicheat no longer works for them. For all we know he may have wanted to do something like this before and Art Model may have prevented it.

Again, the gauge readings prove nothing. They are just way too inaccurate and way too many variables to scientific conclude one definite answer. I don't understand how anyone that took a basic chemistry or physics class in high school can't see this.

Do you guys all believe in creationism too? No global warming? Is this some bullshit right wing make believe science stuff? Because that's what it's like listening to you guys sometimes.

This is such a SMALL sample of readings done is such a haphazard way with no evidence of the reading before hand, with no evidence of barometric conditions of the rooms or timing of the tests themselves that no conclusions should have been reached based on the guage readings. No freaking way. The Wells report just opens themselves up to any legit scientist that understands laboratory and clinical testing criteria. There are just way too many holes in the testing method (or lack of testing method).

And I AGREE with the penalty. I agree the texts prove the Patriots tampered with balls after being inspected by the refs and look to have done that numerous times in the past. Why isn't that enough? Why do I have to agree to bury Brady forever or label the Patriots serial cheaters? Why do you guys have to go so over the top on everything? Why does everything have to be some great conspiracy of us-against the world or some proof the Steelers have been robbed of something?

Those grand conclusions I just don't buy into.

I think Brady is and will be one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game. I think Belichick is and will continue to be an exceptional head coach. That he gets more out of the talent he's given and generates more wins WAY above the average coach.

Spoken like a truther. The gauges are accurate enough, they were used before the tampering, their accuracy did not change during the game, the only balls out of the range belonged to the cheats with the same gauges being used. Junk science does not fix a problem. marsha will never be the best because of the taint of cheating for the entire career. Sucks to be a cheatriots fan. Steelers had to put up with the nfl changing the rules so other teams could compete, the Mel Blount rule, the Hines Ward rule, the hold James Harrison on every play rule, the don't hit the other guys too hard rule, the cheatriots just chose instead to circumvent the rules and got caught more than once.

Tom Brady’s appeal of his four-game DeflateGate suspension will be held at the NFL offices at 345 Park Avenue beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Set your timers

I was thinking two games but your reality is pretty close IMO to the end result knowing good ol Roge.

The guy had better be no place around the field. **** those cheating asshats. They can unveil their newest banner**** without him.

Occam's Razor....the easiest explanation is probably the best and most accurate. Too much cheating history behind this franchise...sit his ***.
