Ha ha, Dri Archer is going to make it, he's gonna be fine. The haters will continue to hate, regardless.
by that logic, Sammie Coates is a starter.
Dri's success won't come from being x or y on the depth chart at any one position. It will come from Haley working him in at multiple spots in the offense and of course his work on special teams. That in my book is his one shot, to be a multi-faceted, multi-purpose player that can pressure defenses from multiple positions on the field. Either it's gonna work, or it won't. If they can't find a role from him, he'll be free to get on with his life's work. The big question is does he show up a stronger, smarter, braver player than he was as a rookie. He's got to be fearless and go balls to the wall. Needless to say this off-season will be critical for him.well, he's behind Sammie Coates now.
so...

I think this is accurate. It matters ****-all if he is 100th on the depth chart at any particular position. Can they put him on the field to make a play himself or affect the defense such that someone else can make the play.
On his TD that was called back, I think we saw what he can do. On, at least, one play during the season, I saw two defenders move over to cover him on a short route. Shows what he can do indirectly. Being able to do something, directly or indirectly, consistently when he steps on the field is the key. I believe he has the talent and speed to do that.
If the coaches do not put him in a position to make plays (i.e. running up the ******* middle), it will be a problem. For last year, he played like, well, a rookie who was drafted very late in the third round.
Agreed Ark. Also the couple of plays he had in the pre-season also gave a glimpse of how they could use him. Again, not a lot to hang your hat on, and he no longer has the proverbial "he's just a rookie, give him time" card to play. He's got to man up and show he belongs. And he absolutely has to show he can be a factor in the return game. I highly doubt the Steelers will carry him on the roster if he doesn't make a firm case for himself in camp and pre-season. The clock is definitely ticking...On his TD that was called back, I think we saw what he can do. On, at least, one play during the season, I saw two defenders move over to cover him on a short route. Am I the only one on the Archer bandwagon?

So 3 people on the wagon.
With the speed on the outside and when Bell comes back I think he is going to get his chances. Plus, I think our D is going to suck so we will have to score a lot.
Archer: 500yds. 4 total TDs. I already staked claim to those numbers a while ago.
If he can't even return kicks, about the only job someone of his size can do, then he isn't a fat lotta good.
I agree with Tibs, I seriously doubt he makes the final roster.
He's going to make the roster. Tombert isn't going to admit defeat on him just yet.
