We get our *** kicked by Buffalo, fans, radio shows, ex players are calling for Tomlin to go, it's time, blah, blah, and everything else.
Now we beat Baltimore with a less than 100% Lamar, where we give up 420 yards to them, lost the Time of Possession by 7 minutes, were out gained something like 200-10 in the 4th qtr and won because of a dumb rule, I know it's the rule and we won.
Then beat a 6-7 team in the cold that never wins in the cold and a QB that never wins in the cold and a team that quit.

Now there are fans calling and radio shows saying we can beat anyone, we have the best QB in the AFC playoff race, saying we're playing the best football in years, Tomlin saved his job and the fire Tomlin chants were premature.

So after those two wins suddenly we can beat anyone, we're playing better than we have in 7 or 8 years, Tomlin saved his job??? It's not like we kicked the Eagles *** then turned around and beat down Denver, we beat two teams that aren't even in the playoffs.

That’s why we’re called fans which is actually short for fanatics, whether on the negative side or on the positive side.
There’s very few sports talk show callers that are not fanatics and are considered casual sports fans, who can be more objective.
It’s all part of what makes sports an entertainment industry
It will always be that way

It's hope. Because at the end of the day, regardless of all the biitching and moaning, the realization sets in that all of that does nothing. All of that will change nothing. So you are left with two options. Continuing misery is one. Hoping that maybe they found a little something is the other. I tend to lean the latter. It's more fun.

I don't believe in nit picking wins. I don't hope for loses. I'd put them at 60 percent to make the playoffs. Id put them at 30-40 percent to win a playoff game. I'd put it at 80 percent the Steelers pick up the '27 option. It's all out of my control. But I do believe it will be his last contract because they don't have a long term qb and they keep having the same draft at 20 result.

Coryea, take a wiff, smell that? That is hopium. We are exposed to it every time the team head fakes us into thinking they might have a chance.

The best thing you can do as a Steelers fan is to NOT inhale it in your lungs. It worked for Bill Clinton.

I have found that if you do accidentally inhale, and start to think they might have a chance, just wait a few weeks till the side effects subside.

Shortly after they get boat raced by a better team you will start to recover.

yeah, but it's not like we went to Philly and dominated them, then turned around and crushed Buffalo at home, we beat two teams that aren't even playoff teams and people are running around like we're unstoppable.

I agree.
Exactly my point.
Fanatics!

Love the analogies and yes very correct.

The Miami game was a gimme, the only thing that made it a concern was which Steelers team was going to show up.

Had the weather been more favorable for the dolphins it also makes it more favorable for the STeelers.

Regardless it is a win and was a predicted win by many, before the season even began.

Yes momentum counts and this win is a part of that.

Detroit will be a better testament to the actual state of the team.

It could be ugly. Detroit is in desperation mode, and not a bad team.

Fully agree, but defiantly a better a testament as to where this team is at.

Steelers could win, but the degree of competition is the root of ability of this team.

Should the nSteelers win, it means we are getting better and a great time of year to be doing so.

Should the Steelers lose and it be dramatically, then we know they are who we thought they are.

Yep, that’s the way it works.
It’s all in their body of work as our certain favorite head coach likes to say..

This team now has a streak of putting good team wins/performances together that has caused hope, because the talent has always been there.

The D played much better, controlling the run and helping ToP, and the O used the middle of the field efficiently and effectively for the first time in 2 or 3 years.

So the "good win" streak sits at one, with those more fanatical and less critical adding in the victory over the Rats as meaningful.

The real test is the Lions, and if that gets the Steelers a good win, then the next real test should come in the WC game.

For me right now, I am optimistic. And I understand the last two victories come with certain warts on it.
But there are a couple things that are driving my optimism right now.
One and don’t look now, is that our very talented defensive personnel are starting to mesh and come together and show what they really can do, especially with being disruptive. Yes, they might give up some yardage, but they’re superpower as a group is flipping the script with turnovers or by creating favorable field position for our offense.

Two, and most importantly I feel, is the organizations personnel group has really upgraded this team through recent acquisitions mostly off some would call the scrapheap. They have brought experience and professionalism to the room and have energized our veteran quarterback.
After listening to Aaron Rodgers statements after the game, one cannot come away, recognizing his sense of confidence and optimism he has that the rest of the season holds for this team

Now all this still comes with limitations that this certain squad has, and by no means do I have illusions of grandeur of a championship this season? However, I do have optimism that this team can win this division and a home playoff game, which with all things considered should be looked up upon as a successful season.

We gave up 420 yards to the Ravens and Lamar isn't nearly 100%, gave up 217 yards rushing, gave up something like 200 yards in the last qtr and if not for a stupid rule, we would've given up 30 points, Baltimore had the ball for 33 minutes.
Tua sucks in the cold and so does Miami, they haven't won a game below 40 degrees, let alone single digits, in forever.

The 93.7 shows are somewhat split between hopium and Show Me in Detroit. I'm with the latter group. Detroit is down this year, but they have the best offense in football and they're great in that dome.
That's who I'm listening to, Flip-Flop Poni now is saying chanting for Tomlin to be fired was premature because of the last two games, and the morning show thinks they have the best QB in the AFC other than Allen

Poni is a shock poster. He just says crap just to stir. I don’t even believe he believes even half of the crap he throws out.
