Let's be honest Steelers got lucky

The whole catch thingy comes up every so often when a team feels they got hosed.
If itbisnt a good rule then they need to change what makes up a catch. Not yell at the refs for enforcement

It doesn't help they redefine a football move every other year... like in years past, tucking a ball caught away from the body was " a football move" now its tucking it plus a change of direction or going down.
There probably should just be a time limit for posession, like two feet down plus one second or something

Tucking it is enough
Extending it is enough
Possessing it for enough time to make a move is enough

Read the rule

Yep, it's such a nebulous thing that it could be or not be anything.
Just like when the Supreme Court justice famously justified a non-definition of pornography. I can't define it but " I know it when I see it"
Same thing.

Agreed. But the refs called it right yesterday. If we do not like it, as most don't, change the rule.
It only a matter of time before every single team in the NFL gets 'screwed" by this rule. Change the rule.

Hearing Harbaugh cry and complain like the ravens are the only team to have been hurt by this is nice at least

Legally a catch or not, all I will say is if the teams were reversed, we all would be screaming holy hell. And rightfully so. Anyone with a working pair of eyes, football fan or not, would call that a catch. Whatever. It happened to the Ravens, so **** em. It was still a catch to any rational person.

It was not a catch based on the rule. The rule is dumb, but it is what it is. In the EZ you shouldn't have to make a football move because you can't go anywhere else but OB. Should be the same as a sideline catch. 2 feet in with possession. I'm not sure how people are still saying it was not the correct call based on the rules. The play was also not game ending for either team. That was a first down play. So the Ravens had plenty of chances. If it was a TD we could have also scored again once we got the ball back

They admitted they got one call wrong and overruling the TD called on the field was obviously wrong

Not sure about Rodgers catching the batted ball but if you apply the same standard, it was a pick

The issue isn't who benefits from the bad calls, it's that after all these years, the league doesn't feel the need to make improvements necessary for games to be called properly - each and every play

Most of the NFL rules we know. Some become so obscure barely anyone knows. On the roughing on the field goal Hairball said the rule is force able contact to head or neck. In the pool interview after the game the ref said nothing about head or neck. Somebody is wrong.

Some of the heat is off Tomlin after the win for some, but it shouldn't be. The play calling in the 4th was back to the typical ultra conservative, let the defense win the game, approach Tomlin always uses. Had the ref not overturned that TD call, the Steelers probably lose that game thanks to the coaching and lack of execution in the 4th once the turtle showed up after getting the lead.

That approach is not going to win any games even if they make it to the playoffs. Tomlin refuses to pass much when it counts and they also don't run the ball more than a few times a game. I don't know what he expects to happen in the playoffs if they make it there because he's not winning any games with that approach. Some teams go heavy on the pass and some favor the run. Tomlin prefers for the offense to not be on the field at all so the defense can score TDs and hold the other team to no points. The main problem with that approach over the last many years is the defensive game plan and execution is also poor.

I was predicting the final four games last week and felt the team would beat the Ravens yesterday after all of the fire Tomlin rage became more mainstream after last game. Tomlin usually has the team more focused after a couple of bad loses once people start to call him out. Miami is the type of team Tomlin does not prepare well for and I won't be surprised if they lose to Miami. The Ravens game at home will be a toss up, but I'm feeling like the Ravens will take that one if Jackson and Henry are healthy. The Steelers will beat the browns, but Sanders will look like an all pro against the defense.

They got that call right. They got the Rodgers call right. They got the leverage call wrong.

No. It's super vague and we won favorably yesterday and lost to the rule when Jesse clearly secured the ball and made a football move - broke the plane - and the ball moves when he hits the ground...

Harbaugh is sure playing it up, you’d have thought they lost the Super Bowl. They suck and we’re not much better if at all. He’s playing it up for two reasons, number 1, he’s probably a bit concerned about his job unlike in Pittsburgh. Second, he wants the league and ultimately the referee pool to take notice hoping they get some calls moving forward and especially week 18. He’s easy to dislike.

glad that Rat didn't do that.

Unlike Old Slice, who let a couple pals take his rap

that wasn't the rule when Jesse was screwed. If it was, he would have had a catch. Two feet down and made football move, that didn't happen on the call yesterday.

Roman Wilson had a catch similar earlier in the year in garbage time, I didn't think that one was a TD either...

It was close and that is one hard luck receiver. Isaiah Likely is the one who dropped the ball before crossing the goal line in the Bengal game.

Wow. Its not Likely having back to back blunders like that.
