do we have some lsu players ? i 'm too lazy to check
I imagine Collins, if cleared, will want to go somewhere he can start right away. Buffalo, maybe New Orleans. My guess is that he signs with the Saints. We told BJ Finney he can compete to start, presumably with Foster, so I guess anything is possible. I seriously doubt he signs with us, but it would be a huge f'n steal.

Why wouldn't he be able to start for the Steelers? A blue chipper, with talent.... Not like Beachum is an all pro starter. I would think he would def have an opportunity to show he could start.
Lol not really. Kid was a top 10 pick
NJ.com's Jordan Raanan said the Giants are "in the mix" for LSU G/T La'El Collins.
Collins has a connection to Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr., having played with him at LSU. Now that Collins is not a suspect in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, teams are lining up for his services. Despite taking two offensive linemen in last week's draft, it remains an area of need for the Giants. The first-team All-SEC selection has also been pursued by the Bills, Bucs, Chargers and Dolphins.
Maybe there wasn't enough information at the time to make a decision, but if there was, it would have been kinda silly to not take a flyer on this guy in the seventh.

Kid was far from top 10 pick, undrafted in fact. That's the draft tho. How much is a car worth? Well what did you pay for it, there you have it. Silverback > Collins
He apparently wants to play LT...would you let him compete with Beachum?
So all 32 teams are silly? It seems clear to me that something was up...either there was concern that Collins was involved in the murder or at some point the NFL or Collins' agent (or both) told teams not to take him because he would rather pick his team than be taken in the 7th.
The timing was just unfortunate. The kid hadn't met with police yet. You really can't draft a guy IN ANY ROUND when there is a cloud hanging over him and that cloud is: did this guy have something to do with the murder of his pregnant ex-girlfriend?
This is straight up bullshit!!. There is no way in hell this kid goes undrafted without some sort of collusion. NFL teams draft guys with injuries who may never play just in hopes they may in the future. No way that not a single team would take a gamble on Collins without some sort of mandate from the league.
This guys should have gone to the supplemental draft.
His agent let it be known that if a team drafted him after the third round, he'd sit out the year w/out signing a contract and re-enter the draft next year.
Yes he did BUT found out later that he would NOT be eligible to re-enter next year's draft. He had to sign as a FA either this year or next IF he did not sign during the draft. The benefit of signing as a UDFA is greater in that his contract will come up after 3 years instead of a possible 5 years as a drafted prospect.
That said, I'm sure Jerry invited him to one of his "parties" to sweeten the deal.
