The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

Along with all of his other transgressions, this too will be waved off by rabid MAGA hardliners. Trump firing the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics because he "didn't like the numbers," is straight out of North Korea, the Soviet Union, or other authoritarian regimes.

This is the most un-American president in history, yet his supporters turn a blind eye, over and over.

When he likes the numbers, when he's winning elections, when things are going his way, then it's all roses & butterflies.

The second things aren't to his liking, then everything is "rigged" against him. It's shameful, unacceptable behavior by any elected official, particularly one in the highest office in the land.

From the NYT:
Nearly the entire Senate supported Erika McEntarfer in 2024 to lead the agency that produces key data on jobs and inflation. The widely respected economist was confirmed on a bipartisan 86-8 Senate vote, with support from Vice President JD Vance, who was then an Ohio senator, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, then a Florida senator.

But Dr. McEntarfer was suddenly caught in the political crossfire on Friday when President Trump lashed out over the agency’s most recent jobs report and fired her for releasing monthly jobs data showing surprisingly weak hiring. He called the data “rigged” without offering any evidence, and he accused Dr. McEntarfer of manipulating the job numbers “for political purposes.”

In a statement on Friday, a group called the Friends of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, made up of former commissioners who served in both Democratic and Republican administrations, denounced Mr. Trump’s move to fire her. It accused the president of wanting someone to blame for the unwelcome economic news.

“The commissioner does not determine what the numbers are but simply reports on what the data show,” the group said. “The process of obtaining the numbers is decentralized by design to avoid opportunities for interference.”

Dr. McEntarfer’s role as commissioner was largely about managing and overseeing the agency of more than 2,000 nonpartisan staff members. Her predecessor, William Beach, is a member of the Friends group and was appointed by Mr. Trump during the president’s first term.

“The totally groundless firing of Dr. Erika McEntarfer, my successor as commissioner of labor statistics at B.L.S., sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the statistical mission of the bureau,” he said on Friday.

Jobs numbers were revised all the time under Biden too (usually downward). If they are consistently wrong on the numbers then get new people who can do it right.

The problem is, Rep voters only see this problem in the Democrats.

I know two different guys where the TDS is so bad that when Trump was shot in Butler (not far from where I live) it wouldn't have surprised me a bit if the news said one of them was the shooter.

It's these truths that give rise to the idea of the uniparty. They are Machiavellian in their priority of making sure they are in power for years, then that their party lasts (probably to cover their dirty tracks), and the government, economy, citizenry, be damned. They don't mind if we get benefits from their tenure, but that is not the motivating factor for anything they do.

It's the last few swirls around the bowl before the final flush. History shows this process many times, and that the little guy pays the price for the whole game.

Buckle up, my friends. It could be interesting.

Democrats never hired 23 people from a media outlet that was fined $787 million for reporting fake news. They never did anything close to that.

No. Your guys tried to argue that what they called news, was actually satire, and no reasonable person would take them seriously. Then your guy hired 23 of those guys into his administration and went after corporations that employed our guys who use obvious satire to mock him. Go ahead, find the anything close to the equivalent on our side.

Just to be clear, adult conversation rarely starts with the desire to see a guy fail, and using any example to try and make that a reality. It's just not the way it works.

If you said "I don't respect this move by him" and didn't try to make it seem that he is worse than any alternative we had at the time, it would be easier to respect. But, the hatred that grabs at straws is lame. That's why I didn't jump on the "let's go brandon" train. It was just hate.

Agreed... that is why I embraced the "******* Joe Biden" slogan......hate? Possibly....why not though....he was destroying our nation and the legacy media was compliance with it. Yep. You are correct. I not only despised Joe Biden and everything he stood for......as AN AMERICAN.......I HATED IT!!!!!!!

Apparently they were just not good at their job. Tibs up in arms over someone bad at what they do getting fired. Wow. Who would have thought that?
