Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

Hmmmmm...

I agree with most of this. I will counter to say that the Eagles offense is beyond elite and not many teams match up well against them.

Let's not forget that the "playing field might have been more favorable" had Ol' Rog and the schedulers not ****** is with 3 games over 10 days and all 3 teams were playoff squads. Brutal.

Let's see what they can do with two safeties that now have a year under their belts playing together. Big play Slay has been very durable and should be on the field more than Jackson was. Holcomb seems to be back at his above average play at ILB pairing him with another above average ILB in Queen, who also has a full year, now, in the program/ system. I have no solution for TJ as he seems siloed in playing 95% of the time over the RT. When he does switch to ILB... meh are the results...

The new youth in Harmon and Benton up front should be better too.

I'm sipping on 8oz of Malbec and enjoying my last views of Bermuda at the airport.

Follow my lead!!!
I read today that Harmon will start at DE this season. Seems like he'll be running with the 1s all summer.

Looks like they expect him to hit the ground running.
Bring on the sleds. I wonder if Rodgers will partake for team unity and all. 🤪

He did win league MVP in 2020 and 2021?
What "great QB" would you have signed for 13 million?
Dk Metcalf was a waste of money.
More worried about the schematicly inept offensive system we employ than our QB. That goes for the Defensive side also.

Something tells me they won’t let the QBs hit the sled. Unless it is Rudy he is allowed to guide it.

I don't think our standard base defense has ever change from the 3-4.

Recently, we've shaped and adapted the defense to keep up with the league and the nickel 2-4-5 is run more between the 20's that is...
Which is why we got embarrassed by the rats

Also telling our guys to commit to a player (derrick Henry) and not the ball assisted that loss as well.

Piss poor game-plan with no and to late adjustments.

Again. Ben didn't win any MVPs.....he had talent. Russ even went to more SBs than Rodgers. He obviously had talent also. We don't have the Rodgers who won those MVPs though. We have a very older version of him.
Again, Ben has nothing to do with this conversation. Yet you insist on bringing him up again. Whatever.

If you don't think Rodgers will have more pull and say in how the offense operates here in 2025 than Russ did last year, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. They are very different players, and very different personalities.

I stand corrected. He was a great QB 5 years ago. How dense are you
You do stand corrected.

Nah, I'm not dense. I can understand the difference between four years and ten years.

Rodgers just might get more say. It will change our entire playbook and offense. Something I and many others have been preaching for years now. Our caveman philosophy on offense will never get us a championship.

So I hope and embrace the idea of Rodgers getting a big say in what we do offensively. I will just believe when I see it.

Ben was handcuffed.
Tribisky also.
Pickett...yep.
Fields...yep.
Russ.....yep.
Rodgers.....we will see.

We still have to deal with our defensive passiveness even if Rodgers gets our O rolling smoothly and efficiently. One thing at a time I suppose.

Aside from age he has only had one significant injury. I am not sure why the whole injury narrative is such a thing.

Simply talking about the number 8, its history and how it paved the way to Tomlin’s success in the path. If we’re being honest Ben doesn’t even touch the field without 8 getting injured.

Not really creating any narrative that the old Douchenozzle is injury prone and don’t really think Howard can be the next Ben…but in the wake of the Steelers signing the Douchenozzle a kid can dream.

Here in lies the rub, how much can we get out of the dusty bones.

Tomlin has bet the house on him, Rooney has stuck through as well.

The coaching scheme had better bend in order to make this a success.

I’m for the Rodgers as he has the strength to stand up to Tomlin and the “scheme”. This better than a weak minded QB alternate. Rudy is a yes man, Kirk Cousins doesn’t have the pedigree to stand against, same as the Russ last season.

A lot is being wagered on here and up for grabs. Should this fail, how accountable will the Tomlin be held ???

Should this’d succeed, be prepared for the next “indefinite” Tomlin HC presence.

What does “success” look like with Rodgers

A) not just folding like a bunch of amateurs down the stretch?
B) another Tomlinship-19 consecutive for the GOaT
C) a meaningless WC victory to get GoAT off the losing streak
D) actually contending for a Lombardi-a minimum of a deep run where they are competing in an AFCCG or even SB 🤣🤣🤣
E) the wildcard- tons of drama, lots of in fighting, locker room divisions, a HC questioned and defied by a rogue QB1 followed by no Tomlinship and a slight touch of heat finally applied to the GoAT’s throne

What a stupid statement.

Rodgers is only three years removed from back-to-back MVP seasons in 2020 and 2021. He had 85 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in those two years combined, which were both in the last five years, not ten.

Yeah, nothing great to see there.

While he has been great in the last decade you said the very important part of “three years removed from…” and those three years happened to have his 39th, 40th and 41st birthdays.

Unless you’re that cheating POS Tommy boy most QBs really fall off that nearing 40 cliff and he has went over the 40 cliff.

I don’t think there’s more than maybe 1-2 of the most optimistic Tomlin nut huggers that think the combo of his pathetic schemes and Rodgers’ aging arm/body will recapture any of that sort of play from 4-5 years ago at this point.

Hope he proves me wrong and takes a bath in the fountain of youth and has endless headset issues with batteries as he’s commanding our guys to a SB against all odds, but right now it’s nothing but hope as history suggests another year of nothing to see here in groundhog land.

I know that you blame the offense for the defensive issues.

Tomlin issues on the D are mainly his own. He still believes in the bend but don't break defense. He willing gives up long sustained drives to keep scores and possessions to a minimum.

Maybe our offense changes this season but it's ineptness circles back around to Tomlin also.

Both sides of the ball have been debated here for years now. Nothing has changed.

Final answer: this **** show is all on Tomlin.

The great thing about allowing opponents 10-15 play drives is it gives the GoAT coach’s defense 10-15 chances at a turnover. He’s got them right where he wants them when they do that.

And they’re killing clock and shortening the game lacking the SPLASH plays-which is a “win win” situation for the GoAT coach as he plays 3D chess and his silly opponent is over their playing ball
Control ram it down your throat checkers.

Those other 31 HCs are a bunch of rubes
“I’m just glad he’s our coach”

Yep.....Tomlin has it all figured out.....or so he thinks he does.

One of the main positives, as I see it, is that Aaaa-Ron has the strength to stand up to Coach Tomlin. This offense will be different but maybe not to as great a degree as I would like to see. It won’t take much to get things moving and once that happens……… Rodgers will be set free to a more open his call offense.

Tomlin will ride that horse as far as that pony will go.

I think the previous 5 QBs have shown the Tomlin that it isn’t working, sort of softened him to change. My biggest hope is Rodgers will facilitate that change even more.

Tomlin and O’Canada were teaching the wryly Ben veteran that it is our way or the highway. Ben wanted to play another season so he went semi-along with it. Once crunch time came in, Ben rouged.

The public and media drove The Tomlin to allow audibles to a limited degree. That was week 5 of the season. They acted as if Ben was a rookie.

In my mind, one of the biggest failures was the useage of Ben.
