Some of that is the league's fault though. If they played like they did 15 or 20 years ago half the team would be suspended every week. Here’s a thought………..
Even in the Pre-Superbowl era, the Steelers made bone-headed moves from top to bottom. Owners / coaches / GMs /even players did sh-it laughable.
One thing was know for certain, when you played the STEELERS, you were in for a very physical beating / game, win or lose. That physicality carried over through Coach Cowher’s tenure.
Today’s team is SOFT, from the top down, outright soft. Other teams come to town and push us around, when was the last time you saw a Steeler start a fight or mouth off openly to an opponent?
When was the last time our coach (cowher) ran down a ref and stuck a pic in his pocket, but instead a coach (Tomlin) running out of the way of a opposing kick returner…….
How about an owner standing up for his team, telling Godell to **** off when they scheduled the covid debacle 3 games. (Baltimore did it), said they wouldn’t play with sick players out).
Just to repeat, this team is soft from top to bottom and that’s partly from no accountability from the top on down.
And not just defense.
Remember they had to change the rules to protect DB's from Hines Ward.
