Are you new or something? Repeat after me:
They would look good in black and gold. They weren't used properly by the Saints. Our coaching staff can turn them around.
But he's already been black and gold...

538 total yards of offense is containing?
How many points did they give up? The team with the most yards does not win. In the end that is what determines the out come of the games.

We already have a Robinsonish player (as far as combine measurables) in BW Webb. What Webb lacks is Robinson's experience. Hopefully having spent the last year under Lake's tutelage has helped him progress. Not against the Robinson signing at all. Hell, we need all the CB help we can get. I'm just saying don't be surprised if they believe that Webb's anticipated growth is part of the solution to the problem.
Robinson is player #1 and Webb player #2.
I hate logic sometimes...

They gave up 32 points, but that game wasn't about the Saints containing anyone. It was about the Steelers not containing Drew Brees and his FIVE TD passes. Neither D showed up in that game, and the Saints were no slouch on offense last year.
Here's what you need to know. Robinson was hurt and only played 2 games in 2013. Throw that year out. In 2011, 2012, and 2014 Robinson had 9 interceptions and 44 passes defended. On average this is 3 interceptions and 14.6 PD's a year.
I'd call him an upgrade over McCain, but still think we need to draft a corner high in this draft.

Can he walk?
Knee issues...ouch
Two torn patellar tendons...
Patrick Robinson named New Orleans Saints’ recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award
Robinson’s teammates voted him as the club’s winner based on his work ethic and perseverance in successfully rehabilitating from two major knee injuries suffered in 2013, almost three months apart.
In June 2013, he injured his patellar tendon and underwent surgery and an ardent rehabilitation to return to the team in training camp. However, in the second week of the regular season in a contest at Tampa Bay on Sept. 15, he ruptured the same patellar tendon, which required season-ending surgery. He then went through more than 10 months of aggressive rehabilitation to return to the field for 2014 training camp.
Robinson, the club’s first round draft pick in 2010, has appeared in eight games with two starts in 2014 and has posted 19 tackles (13 solo), one interception, five passes defensed and four special teams tackles, to tie a career-high.

Get to the damn qb and these CB's look a lot better
if we sign Robinson every priority in the draft should be directed to OLB
we still need to go OLB/CB or CB/OLB in 1/2.
If a free agent still doesn't have a job in week 2 of FA, it probably means that he is a crapshoot or a project. The Steelers might get lucky, but can't go thru the draft assuming luck...

I by no means am going to disagree with you but this class of CB's is pretty deep and we can find some real good value later in the draft as well. Shaw, Darby, Rowe, Glenn, Gaines, Doss and Gunter are all guys that I feel could turn into steals from the 3rd round down. OLB however has me scared and I would have no problem if we went that 1-2. The more I look at this draft the more I am thinking Harold/Durpee is out guy at 1 and follow him with Orchard/Kikaha and OLB fixed.....I hope! It seems to me that there are many more later round hits at CB then OLB and there is nothing.....nothing left for us in free agency to pick from at OLB.
If only the need at LB had been anticipated in the past couple drafts....
almost 4pm ... no news... appears unlikely we sign Robinson unless this one is still going on, but there's not much on twitter from the Steelers beat-writers.
