So, let me see if I have this right, because some of the previous Tomlin corner picks didn't work out, we should pick a whole bunch of em, regardless of how good they are, just to be safe? Am I ******* reading that right? I mean, seriously? Jeezuz. Sometimes I think this **** can't POSSIBLY get any dumber, and then a post like this comes along, and YEP, it does.

Let me get this straight. I demonstrate that Tomlin's CB picks have mostly been bad. My completely logical suggestion is that the solution is to draft more than one to help your odds of getting 1 that works out. I then also provide proof of how this approach has actually worked for the Steelers under Tomlin.
CB is a huge need, so i suggest that it would have been a good idea to use this proven strategy once again in a draft where CB was pretty deep and the need was very high.
Pick them regardless of how good they are? I didn't say that. That's the false premise you added bolster your nonsense argument.
This was the 3rd round. Are you saying there were no CBs available that were any good or could have made the team? If that is your position then i guess you don't like the pick of Shaq Richardson in Round 5. Or did you just mean all the CBs available in Round 3 sucked except for Shaq?
What is harder to find, a good CB or a 3rd down back? I would think the answer is obvious, but apparently not. The answer is CB. You can pick 3rd down backs up off the scrap heap every year. Darren freaking Sproles was let go by both the Chargers and the Saints. What does that tell you? He's about as good as you can hope for as a 3rd down back and 2 teams let him leave so they could spend money elsewhere.
The pats let Danny Woodhead walk.
Now let's ask how many CBs play in games. Generally, you need at least 3 starting quality CBs to play in nickel. Many teams use 4 CBs in dime defenses. This isn't just for a "change of pace" or something to give the other team to worry about. You play multiple CBs because you ******* have to.
Remember the Super Bowl vs the Packers? What would have helped more, a 3rd down back or a decent nickel CB?
How many touches will Archer get? You want to take the ball out of the hands of Le'Veon Bell? Last year they told us they wanted Bell because he was a good receiver and would be an every down back. I guess not.
Oh but Haley will find all these creative uses for Archer. Haven't they said that about Will Johnson for the last few years? He's a receiving FB who has tons of uses. He has 23 receptions in 2 years. And at the same time the Steelers tell us we just don't have the roster space for a true blocking FB. I mean not just any guy can give you 12 receptions per year.
