Penguins 23-24

Happy with 4-0 win but the Pens need an enforcer. They turtled big time when Wilson went CTE roid rage at the end there

Caps looked slow once the Pens found their stride. Ovi had Karlsson lined up for a hit and he seemed to hurt himself on the hit.

I hope the Pens can sustain their speed game as the season progresses
 
It was one of the most complete games we have seen in a very long time. Jarry really should have been ones of the three stars. He was absolutely amazing.
 
Looks like Ovechkin and EK have had their run ins in the past. No doubt we'll see more

The Caps are slow.
 
So at the first intermission, I think the Pens are going to have trouble with these young faster teams. The Pens brought in a bunch of new guys, but they don’t really seem much faster as a team.
 
We are not dominant by any means
 
Great 3rd period after sleep walking through the first two. With their talent, it would be a treat to see them compete for 60 minutes.
 
Looked a little slow to start, have to do something about that. And pissed off Geno was fun to watch. I think Nedeljkovic will be a solid backup for Jarry.

For them to pour it on in the 3rd after playing the night before is a good sign. The last few years they would have lost.

Probably best to not stir up Geno. There's a simmering inferno under that occasionally unengaged exterior.
 
Couple observations.

Ruhwedl and O’Conner are not every day NHL’ers. PO Joseph is borderline in this regard as well.

Pens play too much east-west and not enough north-south.

Came out flying, then settled into that slow, plodding game they seem to fall into pretty regularly.

Pens down 2-1. Ruhwedl in a bad position on both goals against.
 
Starting to unravel now. Down 3-1 and about to be shorthanded
