I know what the thread is about ...my point was why waste a draft pick on a RB when the guy we draft probably wont be as effective as the guy we brought over from the practice squad. We have more pressing needs than backup RB. Id rather focus on CB, OT, S, OLB and TE.
The point others are trying to make is that there is going to be extreme value at the RB position in rounds 5 and 6. Josh Harris hasn't shown anything to make me feel that backup RB is not a priority. He looks good with his shirt off and runs fast, but that's all we know about him. My buddy who is a Wake Forest alum (and watches every game) described him as a "*****" because he was always pulling himself out of games after a carry or two and always dinged up. He did concede that Wake's O-line was horrible. At this point anything we get out of Harris should be seen as a bonus --- we can't count on him.
I would rather get great value with my 5th round draft pick (at a position of need) than count on Josh Harris to be the answer and pick up another Wesley Johnson, Crezdon Butler, Hawthorne (the list goes on and on) in the 5th...
