Players like Hines Ward. That guy gave us all. everything. Man I miss him and people like him. give me 86 over 84 any day of the week. **** the numbers give me the heart.

Rare players they exist but few and far between.

I think Conner is one, his injuries just hold him back as a player, it is a shame he is one hell of a human being. He is all heart on and off the field.

Juju is good spirited just young and learning.

Heyward and Haden are both good men., good hearts.

Ryan Clark for what I saw of him was always taking that extra time in training camp more than any other. That doesn't come without a damn good heart.

I could go on and on if I zoomed in as many players try to make a difference in their off time or retired time

.Keisel is always doing some event.

Polamalu quietly does a lot.

Just a lot of men who played with heart on the field and off the field that heart still beats strong. My only regret is not mentioning them all.

"HEART" is the most underated by the youth of America (I'm speaking in generalities as there are exceptions). If it isn't about them, it's NOT worth the time.

The reason why AMERICA has never lost a war is because of heart. We dig deeper because more is at stake. Our younger generation (s) don't understand that these "rights" that we have are not a given.

Things aren't just given and heart I plays a lot as to what we get.

There are many players who show the unselfishness of what is in their heart. Many have been named and yet many do it anonymously.

AS for the player on the field, Hines was a special one who gave it his all. The BUS had unconditional leadership, a rare trait. The STEELERS had a knack of finding these kinds of players stemming back to the merger of the two conferences. About the time Noll took reins of the coaching. The players are to many to name but all along the way from then to now we seemed to have had a steady flow. Anyone Remeber Loius Lipps, Veron Haines, Kordell Stewart, Kendall Simmons, Hell even Chris Keomotoe did charity work.

Yes our team has been blessed but those very SPECIAL players seem to be fewer and farther in between thus the reason to enjoy them even more when they do make an appearance, CAM / JAMES / BEN / JOE / JuJu / are an example.

Hard to have hart in a league where money is more important than anything. Stats seem to be second winning and giving your all runs neck to neck last

I think you miss all the vowels in your thread title.

Don't forget Watt. Dude is a football player through and through. High competitor and excellent character.

ABSOLUTELY right Cope and TJ will continue and do HIGH charity work through out his career, similar to JJ as it's in their gene pool.

man that is deep

I prefer today's players who build their brand and use their "platform". It's so much better rooting for guys for whom football is their second or third highest priority

One guy not mentioned here.........one of my favs,a silent leader.......all heart .......HEATH!!!!

Excellent player and HIGH HEART type guy.

Another silent HEART player..................Arron Smith #91, the silent lead by example

Smith is one of the most underrated Steelers of all-time. teams just never had success running when he was in his prime. great player!

I would say on the current roster Watt epitomizes what I want a Steelers player to be. There are good pros and then there are guys who ****** hate losing and can dig deep. Funny thing is that before **** went south with AB I had him pegged as a generational Steelers player. He had the smile, everyone raved about the Jerry Rice Work Ethic. You never heard anything bad.... until you did. I had real hope for Juju and still think he will be a great pro, but he seems like a bit of marketing machine.

Agree with Ward. Fun topic.

Top 3 players I miss the most.

#1 Hines
#2 Troy
#3 The Bus

Honorable mention: Harrrison

Yeah, I know, some never want to hear his name mentioned....The name James Harrison to be stricken from SN football forum never to be spoken again!!... er rather "typed" again.

That's how I feel about Farrior. He was not noticed, but really key to our success.

Aaaa, wait a minute...................... James Harrison is one of the greatest LBs in STEELERS history. Believe me that is saying something considering the history of the STEELERS LBing corps.

Those who think he should never be mentioned ever, need to learn forgiveness. What happened at the end of Jame's time here is all but a minor incident and maybe a little selfish but to be stricken from the records is insane.

He has given way to much of his life & soul to this great team and the fans so he deserves some back.
