seems like it is taking a long time to find/hire a WR coach. Anyone hearing any rumors? Maybe hoping for someone on SF or KC staff? Last thing I had seen was from Dale at DKPS saying HCMT would be talking to potential candidates at the Senior Bowl.

Hines would be the perfect fit

MT: "We are about to begin that process with each guy individually and tailor programs to bring the best out of them and to gain some clarity about what the journey of improvement is going to look like, because that is how we collectively improve. At the appropriate time, we are going to analyze our schematics and our division of labor from a coaching staff perspective in an effort to do similar things. That’s a good component of it for us, to study the trends within the game, our place within those trends, whether we are on the right side of the curve or whether we are lagging. There is a lot of discussion to be had."

Read that bolded part a couple of times............................. does that sound like a coach on a mission.........???

I heard a rumor the Steelers were going to hire cooch and his 40 yard dash stopwatch.

It sounds like someone who likes to hear themselves talk.

and how

l bet Tomlin could tread water for hours by flapping his lips alone

I don't feel any more intelligent after reading a Tomlin statement. I just feel like I lost time out of my life that could have been better served sleeping

I've wondered if he talks this way all the time or just to the press.

Imagine a conversation with his players or kids, it would be funnier than what SNL puts out.

Cotchery currently is the assistant WR coach for the Panthers. He was always a good receiver and understands the principles of the Roethlisberger led offense and has done well under Ben. Cotchery was never a diva and was a leader among the group of young WR’s in Pittsburgh. If I were the Steelers- I would see if he would be available to be the WR coach for the black and gold.

It sounds like a coach who says a bunch of words to the media without telling them anything at all because the NFL makes him talk to the media. In short, a lot like every other coach in just about every other sport. I seriously doubt he talks that way off camera.

Crotchety or Ward would be a BIG upgrade over our currently tired retired WR coach. I know that WR coach isn't huge position but we need a replacement none the less.

I'm watching 2002 wildcard game against the Browns and Hines Ward knew how to play football. He would be a great choice as long as he wasn't handcuffed to tight by the existing HC.

17-7 Brown's at half time. Maddox at QB and has a couple (?) INTs. DANG, I love that era of Cowher football.

HOOT, I totally hear and get what you are saying, but on the flip side I also see a coach that makes himself look ridiculously stupid.

Guy went to W&M. My brother graduated there and is a part time prof there. Stupid people don't get into W&M, sports scholarship or no.

W&M must be the new coaching hot spot. Tomlin, McDermott and former LSU and new Carolina OC Joe Brady.

I'm NOT saying he is stupid!!! I'm saying he makes himself look less than intellegent. He would have to be very smart to even hold the job he holds. It's his persona that down-grades our perception of INTELEGENCE.

You'd figure they would have their coaches already in place. Wouldn't they be the guys that would go to the various college games (Senior Bowl, etc.) to scout the talent?

put a nice fine offer to ward he knows thew system c and can groom guys what to expect if they want reps or rookies to make the team.

Can you imagine the bedroom conversations?

MT: Honey, let's turn over every rock, if you will. The arrow is pointing up and things are above the line, and such. Its all about situational love-making........oh, and Steelerfan still has a groin.

If he didn't call out Ben and Tomlin on the AB situation last year he may already be here.

That's where I wish these guys would just brush criticisms and egos aside and do what's best for the team. Ward would be ideal for these guys.
