About to upset Clemson

Pitt knocks off Clemson

Great game! Pitt got serious help from the officials though. But win has to make their season.

As far as Clemson, you could feel this loss coming. Didn't think Pitt would knock them off, but I thought someone would. Slow starts, letting teams hang around. Yeah, there were several terrible calls that benefited Pitt, but Clemson had a ton of chances and go jack. Kudos to Pitt.

Big shakeup this week. Clemson loses and Wash looks like they are going down. Michigan in a tough game vs Iowa.

Great job by Pitt.

Hey tape, how do you think your boy Hack would've done behind that injury-ravaged offensive line Penn State had out there today? McSorley has ten times the mobility and ten times the guts. Nice to see he has helped the boys get back in the top ten where they belong.

Since you asked, I think PSU would have scored 50 with Hack. People think Hack is some immobile pocket passer but he's actually faster than McSorley. The offensive design last year was pro style. Hack is no Vick but neither is McSorley. Just look at how much faster the backup Steven is when he gets a few reps.

The PSU offense struggled today because McSorley has a chicken arm. Indiana simply stacked against the run and dared PSU to throw deep. McSorley's deep passes flutter and become 50/50 balls that the WR has to win. A QB with an arm like Hack would have shredded that gameplan.

There is a reason why Ohio State finally broke through and beat Bama with Cardale Jones at QB. It was because the defense had to defend the entire field. Hack is no great runner but neither was Cardale. In this offense, Hack would have enough athleticism to be effective in the fakes. Carson Wentz used read option at ND State and he uses it with the Eagles some too. The QB doesn't have to be a great runner for it to be effective.

I get it, you hate Hack, but there's a reason why he was drafted in Rd 2. Penn State's scheme and lack of OL play made it a no win situation for the QB. This year's scheme, coupled with new OL coach Matt Limegrover has made the QB's job much easier.

#2 #3 and #4 all lose in the same week. Won't see that very often. This also shows how great it is that there is a playoff. Clemson, Wash, and Michigan are all good teams but none of them are dead because of these losses like they would have been without a playoff.

Strange as it seems but Ohio State lost more than Michigan today. Now if Ohio State beats Michigan then it is Penn State that will play for the Big Ten Championship ahead of OSU because Penn State has the tie breaker head to head. Phio State would have preferred playing undefeated Michigan because then if they beat them it would be a 3 way tie and Ohio State would win a 3 way tie with Mich and PSU

This loss may not hurt Michigan at all. They still control their own destiny. Beat Ohio State and they are in the playoff and probably still the #2 seed.

Same with Ohio State. Beat Michigan and i can't see them missing the playoffs, even if Penn State goes to teh Big 10 Championship ahead of them.

Wash may be done though because the Pac 12 is so weak this year. They'd probably need a bunch of team to have 2 losses to get in

I would love to see Penn State in the Big Ten Championship. but they still have Rutgers and Mich St. nothing is a giving, as we just saw today. Louisville should now move up to Playoff spot. I want to see Alabama vs Louisville! just gave me that, an I'll be happy. well, unless Penn State could make the Playoffs. then I would be just down right ecstatic!!

Big win by Pitt and I missed. I saw UGA towards the end. It was a snooze fest game. But always like to be on the winning side of the Deep Souths oldest rivalry. There was too much sports going on with college ball and nhl. Had to pick hockey today

Another shocker btw. Spoiled Children beat Washington. Browning looked uneasy throwing the ball today. Definately gonna put Michigan and Louisville in the mix

New mexico stuck it to Rutgers for a bit earlier this season. I think Rutgers is a winnable game for Penn St. Have't heard too much about Mich St. this season. But Ohio St and Michigan look to have that conference up for battle

I went to the Michigan State game, drank way too much, went to bed way too early and missed all of the upsets. I guess stranger things have happened, but I can't see Rutgers beating, or competing with, anyone. They are terrible.

I wonder if Louisville will be back in the top 4. Their game with Houston just became a lot more important.

Pitts defense really shut them down at the end of that game to get the ball back and get the win. Great effort.

I was probably more entertained by the endings of the Pitt and Iowa games than I was by the NFL all year. There's something about college football.

The playoff selection could be quite controversial. Right now there are nine teams with one loss or less.

If WVU beats Oklahoma next week, I think they move into playoff contention.

Alabama is so good, it's just boring.

Trust me, Clemson has benefited from calls and obvious no-calls against them all year. They should have already lost at least twice. Great job by Pitt!!

If Michigan loses again and Penn state wins out the big ten will have two 2loss teams in the big ten championship. That will bode ill for the whole conference getting a playoff spot over other teams with one loss. They really dont play anyone to close out the season and help them in the rankings....
