We currently have 2 other players on the roster (Bryant and Hunter) who do what we need him to do. One is miles better at it, and the other is arguably better at it too. I would get what we can for him now, I think a WR starved team could value him given that he has big play potential and has been injured or buried behind multiple stars on the depth chart for most of his career
It depends on the nature of his injury. If there is any chance he can come back and do what he did at the start of the year as season, I don't trade him. If I think he's finished, then I'd absolutely ship him out. What is he worth? Maybe another player on the verge of getting cut.
What's he worth? Wow, hard to put a finger on it, but I'll hand it to you that nay I say whatever it is; it's a digit short from the overall value index.
Maybe another organization could give him a hand. Perhaps someone outside of the Stillers camp could put a finger on what's ailing Coates. They may be able to point out what exactly went wrong and when. Like a combo safe, sometimes 1 digit makes a difference.
NOT nessecarily as if he don't make the team..........he is gone and we get nothing. ALSO if we can get a 5th / 6th / then we have an option of packaging that and possible moving up for a better shot sure thing pick. Just for note,.........our drafting has a few "wins" at the sixth round pick too. I get what you are saying but as camp proceeds it appears as Sammie is less needed......
