Words of wisdom from Greg Lloyd

he better be in camp at 240, with bulkier arms and a vicious attitude or I want to see Peezy tear into him verbally so bad that it lights a fire under his *** so hot that Peezy tells JJ get it together play like a first round pick, I'll teach you a few different pass rush moves use him or if not I won't hesitate to tell coach Butler that Garvin or H.Jones or a rookie will start to get a good bulk of his reps

Earlier Vader made a good point regarding his lack of bulk and muscle mass, I'll give you the short version. His spinal condition maybe what is preventing this from taking place, it may also be what is keeping him from getting better than he was in college. He is likely just as good now as then but not better.

His spinal condition should have nothing to do with his putting on more muscle mass. That's reaching. What is keeping him from putting on more muscle mass is his mental condition. He just doesn't seem to think it is all that important.

If they are thinking what I'm thinking, trade him now. You will get nothng for him, but it will get his suckiness off the roster instead of dragging it out like Ziggy Hood did. Draft someone and pay a journeymen.

How can you possible know this? I have arthritis in my spine. I guarantee you it keeps me from doing certain types of weights and movements. Just look up spinal stenosis and it has a ton of symptoms including:

Spinal stenosis may result in low back pain as well as pain in the legs. Stenosis may pinch the nerves that control muscle power and sensation in the legs. Additional symptoms may include:
•Frequent falling, clumsiness
•Pain and difficulty when walking
•Numbness, tingling, hot or cold feelings in the legs

That sounds more plausible that "mental condition".. whatever that is...

Perhaps I was too cryptic. I am not supporting Jarvis Jones in any way. What I mean by mental condition is I just think he doesn't think it is important to get much stronger. If he did, he would have recognized that after year one. He thinks he is strong enough. I think he thinks he works hard enough. Maybe he is just lazy. What a terrible pick.

As per the spinal thing, how the heck can it keep a guy from lifting weights, but he can run around on a football field? He can take shots from all different directions and without warning, but he can't lift in a controlled situation? I too have had spinal cord issues. Hell, about 12 years ago I had the back of my neck open going after what they thought was a cancerous tumor. Had some of the bone sheared off on C3 and C4. Once I got back on my feet again, I started lifting again to get strength back. I wasn't limited, because you lift carefully and under control, the exact opposite of what happens on a football field. It just doesn't make any sense. If he has any of those issues stated, he wouldn't be running around playing football. I had those issues, and I had to hold onto the wall to go take a piss. To me it is just another way to express how bad a pick Jones was. Why didn't the Steelers recognize the spinal thing? The pick of Jarvis Jones sucks with or without that.

My point about KIRKLAND, wasn't his weight gained after the big contract. My point was UNCLE JARVIS, not even contributing, to this point. Kirkland gave us a lot of "play" for the pay. Jarvis is giving us "little play" for pay !!!!

I understand that. My point is to not get too caught up in weight, is all. I don't care if he is 240 or 260. He needs to get stronger whatever his weight.

I understand what you are saying. I don't have spinal stenosis so I can't answer how or why he does what he does. Having arthritis does give me some insight but I'm sure it is different. I can run and play basketball sometimes. Other times I can't turn my head. But I can always lift certain weights. Some I don't even try. My guess is that he knows what he can and can't do. I'm not sure exactly what that is or isn't. I just believe there is a reason why he isn't bulking up. If he thinks he is strong enough then he is dumber than a box of hammers.

You are being easier on Jones than I am. I think he isn't bulking up because he doesn't really work that hard at it. I think he is dumber than that box of hammers. ****, this is the 2nd year now he has said he learned he has to be stronger. What is it going to take him, 3 more years of learning that?

Dammit, see, I hope I am wrong. I hope he turns out to be a player. But I watched him some while at Georgia and just wasn't impressed. He ran around a lot. I watched him because he had been linked the the Steelers early on. And it just pisses me off to no end that the damn professionals couldn't see that. I don't expect the Steelers to be perfect. No one is. But I think this one you could see coming.
